EA Sports has released a patch for the 360 and PS3 versions of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters. The patch is fairly flimsy with really only one of the widely discussed issues being taken care of while everything else - such as the ability to completely remove caddy suggestions which has long been the most requested change - has gone unaddressed. Continue on for a look at the changes delivered in the patch. (more…)...

During E3 it was made clear that EA Sports intends to continue their relationship with Tiger Woods for at least one more year. Sales of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters were up and the name has undoubtedly become synonymous with the video game from a branding standpoint. The company may have made a misstep however by not fully transitioning to Rory McIlroy when they had the chance. (more…)...
  • EA Sports Decides to Stay with Tiger Woods

Despite previous comments to the contrary EA Sports now plans to continue their relationship with Tiger Woods at least for the immediate future which should mean a Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13. It was just late last year that Electronic Arts Chief Executive John Riccitiello basically stated that the company would move on if Woods' performance and stature did not improve. That of course hasn't happened. Woods has dropped all the way to being ranked 15th in the world and injuries have cost hi...

At the Microsoft E3 press conference this morning EA Sports president Peter Moore appeared to discuss plans for Kinect for Xbox 360 support in the company's sports titles. Madden NFL 12, FIFA 12, and the Tiger Woods series will all incorporate the motion control system in some form or fashion. There is also a future title that has not been announced which will feature Kinect. Team sports games have struggled to introduce compelling motion control options. Those typically translate better ...
  • Tiger Woods 12 Top Sports Game in April

Having topped the sales charts amongst sports games in four of its first six months of release NBA 2K11 was unseated in April by Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters. The release of Tiger Woods 12 in late March meant the first five days of sales were recorded in that month's NPD where it did not place in the top 10 despite performing well. It clearly got a boost from The Masters (April 7th-10th) along with positive word of mouth and mainstream exposure that had been absent the last few years...
  • The Masters Not Having Big Impact on Reviews and Sales of Tiger 12

Largely perceived to be monumental addition to the Tiger Woods franchise, The Masters acted as the primary selling point for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12. Early reports are that sales are up but only marginally, with The Masters likely accounting for why, but still well below where they were prior to Tiger's indiscretions.  (more…)...
  • Play Along With The Masters on Tiger 12

Having teed off this morning the monumental addition of The Masters has understandably acted as the primary marketing point for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12. One of the online enabled features, Live Tournaments, looks to capitalize on the current and coming excitement. It will be no more popular at any point than over the next four days. Given that this is an online feature it does require an "Online Pass" to participate. The free trial for Tiger 12 only lasts for two days, likely to prevent a...
