    A patch is coming to FIFA 11 that will be delivering new features and improvements to Ultimate Team Mode. The free-to-play but microtransaction supported team building game has proven to be a huge success and originated in the FIFA series.     EA Sports is not commenting on whether Andy Gray will remain as commentator in FIFA 12 even as he has been fired from his position at Sky Sports for making sexist comments and related inappropriate actions.     In a year that had several quality soccer offerings the one that stood out the most was 2010 FIFA World Cup. The game was exceedingly fun and when tied in with the emotions of the real World Cup taking place it really nailed the full experience. Even the vuvuzelas made an appearance! (more…)...

    FIFA 11 continued its run this year as the most popular sports game in the world, becoming the fastest selling sports title ever. In the US it has been gaining steam the past few years and broke through in its first month of sales with its best performance ever finishing in fifth place.     A comprehensive patch for FIFA 11 is nearing release, with the PS3 slated to receive it on Friday November 12th while the Xbox 360 will be getting it on Wednesday November 17th.     The Ultimate Team mode has leaked into several EA Sports games but it originated with the FIFA franchise. Beginning today anyone who played FIFA Ultimate Team in either FIFA 09 or FIFA 10 will have access to begin building their teams through a new website.     September was big for EA Sports as their three most recent games finished in the top five in sales for the month. Unfortunately NPD has decided to no longer provide the actual sales numbers for consoles or individual titles instead leaving that to the manufacturers and publishers which is a little disconcerting.
