The latest FIFA game for mobile released today and the focus has shifted even more towards the Ultimate Team model. FIFA 15 Ultimate Team is the official title and it can be downloaded here for iOS devices and here for Android devices. The game is free-to-play (of course expecting people to buy card packs) and has done away with many of the traditional modes in favor of concentrating almost solely on Ultimate Team. Gone this year are Career mode, Penalty Kicks and Manager Mode. The game i...
  • MLS Expansion Teams Being Added to FIFA 15 in November

The two Major League Soccer expansion teams that will debut next March will appear first in FIFA 15. Both Orlando City SC and New York City FC are going to be added in a November content update well in advance of the new season. EA Sports has once before patched in an expansion team. The Vancouver Whitecaps were added in March 2011 to FIFA 11. Interestingly the Portland Timbers, who were also new to the league that season, did not get the same treatment as they weren't introduced until FI...

The Ultimate Team web app is now available for FIFA 15 after being delayed from its scheduled release yesterday. It can be found at this link. The servers appear to be getting hammered and the website isn't even loading consistently but it's apparently there now so those who had been eagerly waiting will want to keep checking back on it. The web app allows users to complete many of the very same tasks that are done in-game within Ultimate Team mode including setting lineups, the buying an...
  • FIFA 15 EA Access Day One Live Stream

Now that FIFA 15 is out through EA Access on Xbox One I'll be running some live streams over the next few days. The six hour time limit will make it difficult to do anything of substance, and since I'm buying on PS4 it doesn't make sense to really dig into any modes that I'd later have to restart, so most of the play-time will likely be Online Seasons games. Feel free to chat along during the streaming sessions! They'll be archived to watch later for those who want to check them out but c...

FIFA 15 through EA Access on Xbox One is now available to download as a timed trial. Subscribers to the service will get six hours of play time before it expires with the timer ticking down whenever the game is loaded regardless of whether it is being played, menus are being navigated through, or if there is any activity taking place at all. So make sure to exit out and close the application from the Xbox One home screen when not in use. The trial will expire on Tuesday regardless of whet...

Coming on the heels of an announcement that "Trade Offers" are being removed from Ultimate Team in FIFA 15 due to account security concerns, EA Sports has rolled out a list of additions being made to the mode this year. Those include the ability to play friends in "Seasons", acquiring players on loan, a "Physical" player attribute, and the chance to plan out future squads in advance.  (more…)...
  • FIFA 15 Demo Generates Additional Enthusiasm Ahead of Release

One might think a demo for a new FIFA release would hold little relevance. The series turns in the biggest selling game in the world every year now. However in the poll posted last week to gauge response to the FIFA 15 demo over 4K votes rolled in and the results paint a picture of a franchise that could grow even beyond the remarkable standing it already holds by appealing to potential new consumers while still holding strongly on to returning ones. EA is doing this by improving across the ...
  • Your Thoughts on the FIFA 15 Demo

After an unexplained delay in getting out for PS4 the FIFA 15 demo is now available on all platforms. It released Monday night on Xbox One, Tuesday for 360/PS3/PC, and Wednesday on PS4. It features eight clubs with matches set to four minute halves and some pre-set squads to use in feeling out Ultimate Team. The FIFA 15 demo has left the strongest impression on me since the UFC 2009 demo. So much was seen and felt, in such a condensed period of time, that the game shined in a way that isn...
