  • FNR4 Cover Voting Update

Given that is has now been over two weeks since the poll was added to the Fight Night Round 4 website, I thought it would be a good time to check in on the results. The question at hand is who should the cover athlete be for FNR4? Mike Tyson, Muhammed Ali, or both? Nearly 50,000 votes have been cast with there being no real front-runner. Tyson leads with 34.9%, followed by 34.1% for both, and 31% for Ali. Since they allow you to vote as many times as you want the results may not be a comp...
  • Fight Night Round 4 Reveal

Earlier this week EA Sports president Peter Moore stated that the unveiling of Fight Night Round 4 would include "something never before seen in a videogame". Now, maybe I'm crazy, but a short trailer with CG footage doesn't exactly live up to that statement. That is all that was presented at the Spike VGAs on Sunday night. Nothing new about the game and no actual footage to get an idea of the direction they are taking the series. The leaked footage out of the Gamestop convention from three ...
  • Tyson or Ali?

That's what EA Sports is asking in regards to who should be on the cover of Fight Night Round 4. The official site for the game went live earlier today. Right now it includes producer blog entries along with the poll as to whether Mike Tyson,  Muhammad Ali, or both should be on the cover. With the unveiling of FNR4 coming on Sunday night one or both seem likely to join Peter Moore on stage at the VGAs. And could the tagline "no two fights are ever the same" be a hint at what Moore was ...
  • Peter Moore Talks About Fight Night Reveal

In his most recent blog posting EA Sports president Peter Moore discussed the Fight Night Round 4 reveal being made at the Spike Video Game Awards on Sunday. Reference is made to a "special guest" which seems likely to be Mike Tyson and a summer release date instead of previously stated spring. In addition they'll be showing off something "never before seen in a videogame". I hope you'll all be watching the Spike VGAs live this Sunday, where I'll be joined by a special guest on stage to sh...
  • Fight Night Round 4 Updates

The first official Fight Night Round 4 footage will be shown during the broadcast of Spike TV's Video Game Awards (VGAs). That is held live on December 14th at 9ET/6PT. If you haven't seen the footage that leaked out of a Gamestop convention a couple months ago you can check that out here. Some of the game's developers set up a Youtube channel. For a short time it actually contained a look at in-game Mike Tyson but that was quickly removed. As of now it doesn't have any game videos and pr...

At a recent Gamestop convention there were some game previews shown for upcoming titles. One of them, as introduced by EA Sports president Peter Moore, being Fight Night Round 4. In the US the Fight Night franchise has become the biggest seller and most sure thing for EA Sports behind Madden. The footage is pretty impressive especially considering the game is still about six months off from release. Continue on to view the video of the game in action along with voice over description of s...
  • Facebreaker Impressions

Facebreaker kicks off EA Sports new Freestyle brand of games which is focused on accessibility and directed more towards the casual group of gamers. The price is even lower than the standard games in order to make them more appealing to a wider group of consumers. That makes it all the more puzzling that the game is so frustratingly difficult that it would likely turn off those same people. There are elements of strategy and there is great separation between someone who is good at the gam...

Once I get more time in with Facebreaker I'll post up my full impressions but I wanted to get up some highlight clips for everyone to check out. The game includes the ability to upload the videos to the EA Sports World website. You can do this when playing with any of the characters including your created ones. Unfortunately this option isn't available for online matches. After the fight is over you have the opportunity to check out the available replays. It lists a set of different event...
