Pre-Order Bonuses and Special Editions for FIFA 16, NHL 16, and NBA Live 16
Over the course of E3 week, in addition to trailers and feature news, EA Sports rolled out the pre-order incentives and special editions for FIFA 16, NHL 16, and NBA Live 16.
Similar to Madden NFL 16, which had it's info go out earlier, the games outside of Live are essentially being offered in different tiers now. That, of course, is related to the amount of up-front Ultimate Team content desired by consumers. (more…)...
Breaking down some of the NBA Live 16 footage out of E3
Yesterday the first breakdown of Madden NFL 16 footage was posted, taking a closer look at that game out of E3. Today attention turns to NBA Live 16 which EA Sports hopes will see a resurgence this year. The company is making some big claims that will draw additional scrutiny should they fail to live up to them but at this point they really have nothing to lose.
It's important to be somewhat cautious in analyzing basketball games played by people, more so than other sports games,...
Popularity of EA Sports games gauged through E3 trailer views
EA Sports rolled out new trailers for their upcoming games at E3. What kind of traction have they had on Youtube and is there anything to be gleaned from view numbers? What probably stands out the most is how Madden really isn't drawing at a rate that would be representative of its sales numbers - something that seems to be a trend over recent years. (more…)...
E3 video collection for NBA Live 16
Based on the E3 presser it's clear that, if NBA Live is going down, they're going to do so swinging. Not only did EA Sports take shots at their 2K rival but the features announced - a face scanning app and a yet to be revealed multiplayer online mode - are an attempt to attack the competition's weaknesses.
Ultimately though no one is going to put much stock into what they say, but rather what is shown. There wasn't much in the way of footage to come out of E3 but there are a few videos at...

The first day of E3 is in the books and it was relatively uneventful, though quite informative, in regards to the upcoming crop of sports games.
This year at E3 expectations were tempered as far as the yearly league-licensed games go and there were few deviations from what was anticipated. Madden NFL 16 got a new mode announced, NBA Live 16 made some big promises, and FIFA 16 had one of the longest presentations in recent memory. Meanwhile the oft-rumored, and perpetually teased, Joe M...
NBA Live 16 E3 Trailer; Gameplay Details and Release Date Set
EA Sports today rolled out the debut trailer for NBA Live 16. Included is the official release date of September 29. That matches the NBA 2K16 release date, somewhat at least, considering 2K16 truly releases on the 25th. On Xbox One anyway Live will beat it by a few hours for anyone who has EA Access. (more…)...
NBA Live 16 Announced: Russell Westbrook on Cover, Some Features Teased
EA Sports today made NBA Live 16 official by announcing Russell Westbrook as the cover athlete. Considering how poor sales have been for Live 14 and Live 15 there has been legitimate concern that the series would be cancelled. The former was a disaster and the latter provided some stability but failed to do anything more. The series is getting at least one more go at it and it'll need to show considerable growth to justify it continuing beyond this year. (more…)...
NBA Live 15 Now Available for Free with EA Access Subscription
It took nearly two weeks since discovering that NBA Live 15 was headed to the EA Access "Vault" but the game is now one of the benefits of the subscription service. Those with active subscriptions will have unlimited time with the full game for no additional cost.
The EA Access service is currently exclusive to Xbox One as Sony opted not to allow it for the PS4. It’s $30 for a full year or $5 month-to-month. Members get unlimited access to the Vault which contains older EA games...
