Last year both NBA games had their share of issues but 2K Sports and EA Sports engaged in an ugly campaign meant to put down the competition's product. The back and forth included 2K questioning the first patch for NBA Live 10 and its inclusion of community feedback. EA Sports retaliated with a blog showcasing complaints about NBA 2K10 and all the people who were selling it on Craigslist. It was an embarrassing series of events that ended up making both companies look bad and created the perce...

At the cover athlete announcement party earlier this week those in attendance got a chance to try out NBA Elite 11. Out of that has come a video which shows the game in action  presenting extended stretches of play with Lebron James going up against cover athlete Kevin Durant. The quickness and responsiveness comes through at the same time displaying a lack of momentum and weight along with a sense of frantic action that doesn't always fit within the context of what is taking place. While Brandon Jennings may have some role in the promotion of NBA Elite 11 he won't be the cover athlete. EA Sports has revealed that Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant has received the cover honors for the game. Brandon Jennings has been featured in NBA Elite 11 screenshots and even the first footage of the game leading many to believe he has been selected to be the cover athlete for NBA Elite 11. Be a Pro mode was rolled out in NBA Live 09 though just in name and not in terms of content. It was simply one-off games taking control of a current NBA player and was better thought of as a practice mode for Online Team Play. There was no character creation or progression involved and no structure to it beyond just being simple play now games. We can basically forget about all that though as a true Be a Pro mode, similar in nature to the one found in the NHL or FIFA series, will arrive in ...

Gametrailers has posted up a developer diary for NBA Elite 11 in which creative director David Littman and associate producer Novell Thomas discuss a few issues that plagued NBA Live 10 and how things have changed for Elite 11. The two aspects focused on in the video are the introduction of real-time physics and the "hands-on control" right stick scheme. They expect them to alleviate the problems of losing control of players in animations and having no skill involved in whether a shot is made ...
