It is not so much surprising that EA Sports has announced a "delay" for NBA Elite 11 in that they have made the decision to do so, but in the proximity to its scheduled release. With just one week until it was supposed to be out this decision was likely due in large part to the negativity from the community and inability to gain any traction with casual gamers. The response to the demo may have been the final nail in the coffin, though certainly it would seem the potential to delay had been on...

EA Sports has announced they have delayed NBA Elite 11 and will no longer release it as scheduled on October 5th. No word on if they plan to release NBA Elite 11 at all, or will come back with what they perceive as a strong offering a year from now for Elite 12. Tying in with that NBA Jam, which had been planned to be packaged into NBA Elite with a code, will now be out separately for the 360 and PS3 before the end of the year. EA Sports clearly saw the writing on the wall that the release ...

A big topic of discussion right now coming out of the NBA Elite 11 demo is what is being referred to as the "hook shot glitch". It really isn't a glitch since it was programmed this way, but is a pretty obvious exploit that needs to be addressed. It makes shooting, even three pointers, very easy by removing half of the equation. It is fair to question how it got past the design stage and testing. Continue on to check out a video walkthrough of the issue as well as one of it in action during ga...

Love it or hate it the demo for NBA Elite 11 provides plenty of content to gauge the game on by including regular gameplay, career mode gameplay, and the tutorials and practice gym. Anyone on the fence or at all curious about Elite gets the opportunity to try it out and judge it. This is a game that has gone through a major revamp and is trying to present something new and fresh. The effort to do so can be appreciated but what really matters is whether the game is a good representation of the ...
  • NBA Elite 11 Bynum Demo Glitch Video

A video now being widely circulated (posted about in the comments here and featured on Kotaku) shows a glitch in the NBA Elite 11 demo where Andrew Bynum gets stuck in a "Jesus pose" or "Jordan Wings" at half court and remains there the rest of the game. It is funny to watch, not just in seeing it but also in the gamer's reaction to it. Instances such as this, while rare to see happen more than once, are not uncommon in games. It isn't as though it has been widely reported and to compare 2K...

The demo for NBA Elite 11 is out now on both the PS3 and 360. It came out a bit early for the PS3 as the PSN update was moved up due to maintenance being completed on Tuesday and the 360 demo can be queued up to download here. The demo consists of three different modes in the form of regular gameplay with the fourth quarter of game seven of the NBA Finals (Celtics vs Lakers), the Jordan Showcase game in the Become Legendary career mode, and a tutorial practice mode.
