It seems a large number of people who signed up for the free Alistair Overeem code through UFC Undisputed 3's Facebook page - which was available to claim beginning in late December and through much of January, and then was opened back up again until last Friday - didn't receive the code today as expected. The codes were apparently all sent out this morning but many, myself included, even after checking spam folders and such didn't receive it. In response THQ has set up a page where co...

The biggest concern heading into UFC Undisputed 3 was whether THQ would be able to deliver acceptable online performance. The UFC series had struggled mightily online with its first two entries which were hosted by GameSpy, the company transitioned to their own servers with WWE 12 to disastrous results, and now on release day UFC 3 is experiencing a variety of problems as the company feverishly attempts to address them.  (more…)...

The extra time has paid some substantial dividends - but one design decision in particular and troubled online performance remain concerns.  (more…)...

One somewhat unheralded new addition to the UFC franchise is the "Highlight Reel" feature. There are actually two different aspects to it - one comes with the "Smart Highlight Reel" which can be automatically generated while the other is the ability to create and edit your own highlight video. All highlight reels can be uploaded to the server for others to watch and/or download and rate. (more…)...

With UFC Undisputed 3 in hand the first thing to check on as always was loading times when playing from the disc up against those when installed to the Xbox 360 hard drive. The loading times in general have shown to be quite reasonable on the disc, with the extra presentation making for lengthier entries into UFC fights (Tale of the Tape can't be skipped) vs Pride, while the install does a decent job of improving on them.  (more…)...
