Announced at E3, EA Sports MMA is set to release in 2010 and from then on alternate years with the Fight Night series. In an interview with Gamastura, EA Sports President Peter Moore discussed the game and how they are targeting individual fighter rights. Given that THQ holds the exclusive ...

UFC 2009 Dominates May Sales
UFC 2009 Undisputed was expected to be a strong seller. The sport is on the rise, reviews and buzz were good, and the marketing was heavy. However I'm not sure if many would've predicted that UFC would sell over one million copies in just the 12 days it was on the market in May.
With the NPD releasing sales numbers today we found out that the 360 version moved 679,600 copies with the PS3 selling 334,400. The game obliterated everything else for the month. To put it in perspective the 1.14...

The Wrap-Up: UFC 2009 Undisputed
In the months leading up to the release of UFC 2009 Undisputed I viewed the game with a level of skepticism. Given THQ's history with the WWE games and being the first attempt at UFC I didn't know what fully to expect nor did I want to get my hopes too high.
Then came the demo which blew apart every preconceived notion I had regarding the game. No it wasn't too stiff or mechanical. No it wasn't too difficult. Yes the differing styles would keep things fresh and vary experiences. And yes i...
EA Sports MMA in Development
Long rumored and now confirmed with the announcement at the EA press conference, EA Sports MMA is in development aiming for a release next year. The question becomes how will they produce a game for a sport that is so strongly identified with UFC? A license that is locked into an exclusive and multi-year deal with THQ. It'll be interesting to see how they go about that. While the sport is growing most casual fans simply identify UFC as MMA.
One thing that does make sense is for EA to do a...

Patch In The Works For UFC 2009
THQ is currently working on a patch for UFC 2009 Undisputed. Given the time it takes to create the patch and get through the certification process we are looking at probably over two weeks and most likely a month or so away. The patch will address the online problem with no result being recorded when people quit and also will work to eliminate some of the lag that has been experienced.
No word yet on what else, if anything, would be included in the patch. Hopefully some of the minor griev...
