    Earlier this week much was made of the announcement that Fedor Emelianenko was signed to the EA MMA game, though it had been public knowledge for over a month. Despite the threat of bans from the UFC for anyone aligning themselves with EA he was being hotly recruited by UFC.   • Patches for FNR4 and UFC 2009 Now Out

    Both Fight Night Round 4 and UFC 2009 Undisputed have received their first patches for the 360. The PS3 will be seeing those same patches arrive in the near future.     Fight Night has proven one of the few sports franchises that has mainstream appeal. Fight Night Round 3 represented the second strongest franchise in US sales for EA Sports behind only Madden. After taking a few years off Fight Night Round 4 came out last month though it was difficult to judge the buzz around the game.     UFC 100 may be over, but UFC president, Dana White is keeping the action going by waging a war on EA Sports.     Randy Couture is expected to be the cover athlete for EA Sports MMA according to SportsBusiness Daily (via First Cuts). The game is still a year away from releasing but this news makes it clear that he will be most recognizable name that EA obtains.     While aware that the upcoming patch for UFC 2009 Undisputed would address the issue with quitting in online matches it was unknown what else would be included. THQ has now released the full details of what will be in the patch in the game's forum. As to when it will go live it appears it has not yet been sent for certification meaning it is still at least another couple weeks away from arriving.
