The continued hypocrisy of the NCAA shone through today as Jay Bilas exposed on Twitter how names are linked to jerseys at the official NCAA shop. Players can't profit off their own names but the NCAA sure does and it couldn't have been made any clearer. Searching the names of both current and former players returned results with the jersey number they wear/wore on apparel. The search functionality on the site has now been completely disabled.  (more…)...

One focuses on Owner mode by showing aspects such as owner selection, popularity levels, building of new stadiums, and media questions. It also has a chunk of gameplay footage with the Colts at Panthers in a new stadium. The other video is an entire head-to-head game (four minute quarters) with the Packers at 49ers. (more…)...

A federal appeals court turned in a split decision today overruling the argument by Electronic Arts that the First Amendment gave them protection as free expression and artistic works in the representation of players in college video games. The 2-1 ruling prevents the company from using the First Amendment as a defense against collegiate athletes who feel their likeness has been misused but it does not represent closure on the subject by any means.  (more…)...

A recent play event held by EA Sports has led to the release of a number of videos for the Xbox 360/PS3 version of Madden NFL 25. Extended directly captured gameplay footage is joined by looks at Owner mode, Skills Trainer, and Create-a-Player. Though these do not come from the final build they are certainly representative of what that will be as the game is feature-locked and will be going "gold" within the next week or two. Continue on to check out the videos and leave any thoughts in the ...
  • EA Seeks Dismissal from Likeness Lawsuit

In a filing today Electronic Arts is seeking dismissal following the latest amended complaint in the player likeness lawsuit against the company, NCAA, and CLC. During the class action certification hearing EA and the CLC both threw the NCAA under the bus saying they shouldn't be held liable given that they were just following the NCAA's rules. That argument is appearing again now in the hopes, however slim despite happening once before, that they will be dismissed as defendants before the d...

While the Canton Greats team in Madden NFL 13 would seem similar on the surface - and both have John Madden as the coach on the sidelines - they differ in the selection process for the roster. Earlier this week EA Sports announced that Ultimate Team content will transfer or mirror from the current generation versions of Madden NFL 25 and FIFA 14 to their next-gen versions. With Madden items and currency will be moved and for FIFA they'll actually share the same team-building universe. Those abilities will only apply to users going from 360 to Xbox One or PS3 to PS4 as switching allegiances will mean starting from scratch. During the investor call on Tuesday mention was made tha...
