EA Sports rolled out new trailers for their upcoming games at E3. It all began nearly a year ago. Joe Montana teased what at the time was believed to be a mobile game by tweeting out a picture that was accompanied by the hashtags #youvewaitedlongenough and #joemontanafootball16. Ever since fantastical rumors have swirled, inexplicably fanned by the CEO of the company developing the game, leading to some unfortunate misinformation and seriously unrealistic expectations.  (more…)...

The chatter surrounding a complete unknown in Joe Montana Football 16 has been unprecedented within the genre, with made-up rumors fueling expectations that were unlikely to be met. The reality of the game is finally here though, and after learning for certain that it would not carry with it any NFL or NFLPA licensing, it's now been announced as a mobile-first game which may eventually land on PC but only if it "does well". The first day of E3 is in the books and it was relatively uneventful, though quite informative, in regards to the upcoming crop of sports games. This year at E3 expectations were tempered as far as the yearly league-licensed games go and there were few deviations from what was anticipated. Madden NFL 16 got a new mode announced, NBA Live 16 made some big promises, and FIFA 16 had one of the longest presentations in recent memory. Meanwhile the oft-rumored, and perpetually teased, Joe M...

Ever since EA nonchalantly announced that they had extended their deal with the NFL early last year question remained regarding exclusivity. The subject was dodged at every turn, leaving many to wonder if the EA Sports deal with the league had changed in that regard. Rumors even arose suggesting other companies were going in on the NFL and working on games that would utilize the licensing. That can now be put to rest as far as the consoles go. Today in an interview with Geoff Keighley, Mo...
