The results are in and according to the North County Times the winner of the honor to represent EA Sports' new title NFL Tour as the cover athlete is Shawne Merriman. Merriman beat out Jason Taylor and Dwight Freeney through the voting process which was conducted on the official NFL Tour website. According to the NFL Tour website the voting has been closed and the player who won the honor of being on the cover will be unveiled on Thursday October 11th. It is possible though that it could be announced prior to then. Going in Shawne Merriman appeared to be the favorite to win.
