This week the NBA Live OTP games will take place on the evening of Friday the 29th. Meet up in the created pastapadre lobby room at 5pt/8et if you'd like to join in. As usual recaps and highlight videos should be up by Monday. The roster update may be out by this time but we'll play it safe and save those for next week. It's possible the special OTP with NBA Live producers may take place next week as well however that hasn't been determined yet. After how well last week's games turned ...

A new feature in the official NBA Live forum has 360/PS3 Live Producer Brian Ullrich fielding questions from the community and answering a handful each week. While there isn't likely to be huge announcements made through this it appears that small bits of info on Live 09 will be discussed throughout. Today the first responses were posted and deal with such topics as unlocking player editing, the big shorts in 08, and the future of Go-To Moves. Click here to read the full posting....

The official website for NFL Head Coach 09 has gone live and it includes new details about the game. IGN also posted an early preview of the game which includes some good info which you can check out here. It seems as though they've really attempted to get away from the procedural monotony of the original Head Coach and have introduced some live elements that will keep the pace up and make things interesting. I also have posted up the first 25 screens from the game. There are a few below ...

Even though it had been known to be coming, today EA Sports officially announced NFL Head Coach 09. The game will be available for the 360 and PS3 and features Indianapolis Colts' Tony Dungy on the cover. Along with the announcement should come the launching of the official website later today and possibly the first screenshots which I'll have here as soon as they're available. ā€œIn NFL Head Coach 09, the gamer has complete control of their franchiseā€™s destiny,ā€ ...
  • NBA Live OTP night six recap

Night six of NBA Live 08 OTP is in the books and it was one of the better all around nights so far. Both games were very competitive and using the lower ranked matchup and international teams seemed to pay off. The first game we had three vs four and the second game was a full five on five. Following the next roster update we'll do some games with the teams that made acquisitions (Cleveland vs Dallas sounds good) and probably another international game since this one turned out so well. A...

The sixth night of NBA Live 08 OTP will be on Saturday the 23rd at 5PT/8ET. Per request this week will feature one matchup of lower rated teams and another of international teams. Once again there will be a full game or highlight video, stats, and short recaps by Monday. Also I wanted to mention that there is a special OTP night in the works. This could be next week or the week after (the new roster update should be out beforehand) and would bring in some NBA Live producers to play along....
  • Eli Manning Madden 09 cover rumor

Following the Super Bowl I wrote an article about how Eli Manning had propelled himself into consideration for the cover of Madden 09. Being that it was just a couple hours after the game ended that was just pure speculation on my part. However now there is buzz going around that not only is he at the top of the list, but that he is actually in negotiation and appears to be EA's top choice for 09. The problem with this is the basis of the rumor comes from a random forum post on an obscure M...
  • How should companies judge a game’s success?

The interview held with Peter Moore has sparked some good discussion and the reaction has been interesting to follow. One of the more frequently commented upon topics is Moore's use of Metacritic as a major basis for considering Madden 08 to be an excellent game. While in some ways it may have been, everyone would agree that there is a lot of room for improvement in the series. That got me to thinking. I'm of the belief that Metacritic is not the best method for determining how good a gam...
