We've now reached picks 9 through 11 in the Madden Mock Draft. Again we are in an area where team needs take precedence as ratings are going to be comparable between most of the players that can be considered. The Bengals, Saints, and Bills are up and all address areas of weakness with their picks. All three teams go defense here. (more…)...

When the official Madden 09 website launched I brought up the presence of the statement "the countdown begins 4/5/08" and what that could mean. Yesterday the site updated and it will display one of the covers from the 20 years of Madden each day as the NFL Draft nears. The countdown leads up to the 24th which is when presumably the Madden 09 cover athlete will be revealed. However with the PS3 NCAA Football 09 cover being announced on the 24th I wouldn't be surprised to see the Madden annou...

The release of the first big NCAA Football 09 feature list has brought about a great deal of optimism. It seems as though many things from previous versions along with other wishlist type features have made their way in. One topic that I've covered here a lot has been the NBA Live 08 Online Team Play. From my thoughts on the mode and suggestions for how it could be better (my full first impressions here) to holding the team play nights it has been a really enjoyable and valuable addition. Recently I wrote an article for Gametap detailing the five things you need to know about Live's OTP. The writeup is somewhat general since it's targeted towards those who may not know much about it. Given that it was pus...

When the Madden 09 20th Anniversary Collectors Edition press release mentioned all platforms known to man except for the PC people took notice. Now Peter Moore has confirmed that there will be no PC version of Madden 09 in his latest blog entry. We knew that our decision to not develop this year’s Madden for the PC would be an unpopular decision in some circles. But I’ll reiterate what I said a couple of weeks ago in this space…the PC presents some very serious business challenges to u...

I have been informed that there will be a substantial amount of NCAA Football 09 info coming this week. Up to now we've heard a little about the breakaway animations and goal of wide open gameplay along with getting to see a couple screenshots and some short clips of the game from early in development. It sounds as though this is the week that things will really start to heat up for NCAA Football. EA is likely looking to put the spotlight on the new features and improvements heading up to...
