It contains the offense, defense, and overall rating for each team. For those who haven't seen the top 25 rankings that can be found here. What are your thoughts on teams that might be overrated or underrated? Florida State may be the team that jumps out the most as blatantly overrated....
  • First details on Madden 09 for the Wii

As with what we've seen from NCAA Football 09, this year's release on the Wii for Madden 09 will help to kickoff the All-Play brand of games on that console. The idea behind it is to make the games more inviting to inexperienced players who have felt the games have been intimidating and confusing. The entire line of All-Play will be designed from the ground-up for the Wii as opposed to receiving a port of the PS2 version with motion controls tacked on and mini-games added. Yesterday Peter M...

EA Sports has posted up a new video for NCAA Football 09 that spotlights some of the advancements the game has made this year compared to last. You'll see examples of what I could only describe after playing as the natural look and feel in the movement of players. That includes the movement during pre-snap and while catching kickoffs, running down the sidelines, convoy blocking with celebrations, bobbled catches, and post play continuation. It's a pretty extensive look at areas that haven't be...

As mentioned yesterday there are a couple of community events taking place in the near future. The first one covers the three football games as NCAA Football 09, NFL Head Coach 09, and Madden 09 will all be available for significant hands-on time. There will also be some presentations and producer interaction taking place. This will be held next Thursday and Friday (5/29-30) with travel days buffering. When it comes to the subject of embargoes this is how it will likely shape up. NCAA will ...

Another member of the Madden 09 team has started posting in the official forum for the game. Lead gameplay designer Ian Cummings has been discussing different topics which has since led to the compiling of a "gameplay FAQ" which includes many of the questions and responses. Currently any questions can be posed to him in this thread. It is mentioned that the kickoff power has been toned down which was a huge issue last year so it is a relief to hear it has been adjusted. Kicking it with eas...

Gametap has a new interview with NFL Head Coach 09 lead producer Josh Looman. The discussion goes over aspects of the game that are already known if you've been piecing together the information over the past few months, but it is worth a read to get the overall sense of the direction the game has taken. The play editor, free agency negotiations, and NFL Draft among other areas are detailed. You can check out the full interview here. But the coolest thing we have this year has to be the in-gam...

EA Sports has posted a new producer blog for NCAA Football 09 that goes over the Custom Stadium Sounds feature. It includes some screenshots along with the discussion on how the feature works and how it is the beginning of a move towards user created content. You can read the full blog posting here. I think the coolest thing about Custom Stadium Sounds is I have an opportunity to affect the game other than just by my actions on the field. The purists out there will gather all of their team...

IGN has released a video of a full drive in NCAA Football 09 as Boston College takes the ball down the field on BYU. The video runs for approximately 4 1/2 minutes and can be viewed here (make sure to watch in high-res). The game looks to have been tightened up some from the build we played a few weeks ago. It is really difficult to judge though until getting hands-on time to actually compare the feel. That really can't be analyzed much through the videos especially in short bursts where the ...
