The official website for NCAA Football 11 has gone live and includes some new content. The first blog goes over in a little more detail a few of the new features that were originally revealed last week. The topics covered include on-field referees and formation substitutions. There are also new mascots for the game that are being unveiled on a weekly basis. It appears that Teambuilder will remain unchanged from last year, and that teams already created for NCAA 10 will be usable in NCAA 11....

IGN and Gamespot have posted the first hands-on previews for Backbreaker. The Euphoria driven football game is slated to release on May 18th and this is the first opportunity the media outlets have had to actually play the game. Gamespot: Camera angles aside, developers are aiming to make Backbreaker an easy game to pick up and play. IGN: The actual football itself hadn't changed all that much in the last year, which is surprising given the amount of time Backbreaker has been in hiding. The...

A while back I made mention of a Tecmo Super Bowl remake that has been in development for release on the XBL Marketplace and Playstation Network as a downloadable only title. Today Tecmo confirmed the game and released some details along with the first screenshots. The game will release sometime this spring though a specific date has yet to be confirmed. Head into the screenshot gallery to check out the images. It definitely has modernized and appears much sharper while still retaining the nos...

With Backbreaker having started promotion in advance of its May 18th release some previews will be out in the coming weeks. Scans of a new preview in the overseas magazine X360 have emerged. The actual article is written in an overly sensationalist manner so from it I've pulled out just the information on the game that hasn't been touched on before. Created teams being used online will not have the customized logos, jerseys, and field art displayed to opponents. It is implied that the deci...

Kurt Warner, Bertrand Berry, and Junior Seau have been returned to Madden 10 as the last roster update that will be provided for Madden 10 has arrived. Originally meant to be the final update in early February, the removal of players who had retired following the ending of their season but before the completion of the NFL season created a strong reaction in the community. The comments left in multiple articles and poll results were largely credited with prompting a response. It was the firs...

Late last week I posted a poll regarding the removal of a few players in the final Madden 10 roster update who had retired following the end of their season but before the NFL season was officially over. Kurt Warner, Bertrand Berry, and Junior Seau were completely taken out of the game in the update. The poll and accompanying comments were heavily in favor of keeping players on the rosters given that they finished off the seasons with their respective teams. Lead producer from the Madden serie...

It has been rumored (to no one's surprise) that Tim Tebow will be on the cover of NCAA Football 11. What has remained uncertain is whether Tebow would be the universal cover athlete or if he would just be on a single version with different players appearing on the others. The last two years have had a different cover athlete represent the 360, PS3, PS2, and PSP. Tebow though has the collegiate stature that potentially could have been tempting enough for EA to consider using him as the sole cov...
