Involved in that is the implementation of authentic offenses which was detailed in an earlier video. Within this trailer there is also a look at some more of the authentic team entrances that certain schools will have this year and more elements of presentation. Continue on to watch the video and leave your thoughts in the comments! (more…)...

EA Sports has posted a new blog for Madden 11 that goes over the improvements to blocking in the running game. Four different run plays are featured with the Power O, HB Counter, HB Stretch, and Inside Zone broken down. You can check out the full blog posting here. The new Run Blocking AI will open up more running lanes and allow users to establish a true ground attack like we see proficient running teams do on Sunday. It all starts with blocking, without blocking the greatest running back...
  • Clearing Up How GameFlow Works Online

A comment I made on Twitter the other day struck up a discussion that made it obvious the implementation of GameFlow for online play in Madden 11 hadn't been clarified completely. GameFlow play-calling will remain as an option for unranked games, and can be either turned on or off for Online Franchise, but GameFlow will be activated for all ranked games. With GameFlow turned on either party can access the full playbook it just requires a button press in every instance in which the desire is...
  • No Patch Coming for Tecmo Bowl Throwback

Word of a patch for Tecmo Bowl Throwback has now been squashed with Tecmo coming out to state that they will now not be providing one. The patch was planned in attempt to solve an issue with recording wins and losses when one side quits out of an online game. Kotaku has a full story on the news. The game released last week for the 360 but still has no stated release date for the PS3. As mentioned in my impressions of TBT, one of the drawbacks to a downloadable title is that they generally g...

The demo for Backbreaker definitely carries more significance than those of established sports franchises. Much like UFC last year it could be a huge success and propel the game towards increased awareness and sales. However it could also be damaging if the demo does not do a good job of representing the final product or does represent it but simply turns out to be a dud. According to a posting on the Backbreaker forum that includes an email from a representative of 505 Games, the demo for ...

Those of you who follow on Twitter and Facebook were able to check out screenshots of some of the rookies in their pro uniforms over the course of last week. Those are still up and can most easily be found on the Facebook album (make sure to "like" it while there!). These screens go beyond that group, offering up different shots of the same players and screens of others who were drafted. To see the previous AFC set of images click here. I tried to grab as many as possible in Madden 10...
  • Madden 11 Pre-Release Reviews Limited to Single Event Viewing (Update)

(Update) According to a statement from EA, they are in fact going to send out review copies before the review embargo is lifted. They did not however deny that there will be a "review event" held or detail the timeline involved with that and when copies would go out. Not too long ago Activision took a lot of heat for a review tactic they used with Tony Hawk: Ride. Any publication that wanted to publish a pre-release review was granted the opportunity to do so by attending a play "event"....
