Earlier today it was revealed that Ohio State and Miami would be included in the NCAA Football 11 demo. As noted it was not explicitly stated that they would be the only teams in the demo. I've since been able to get some additional details on how the demo will be constructed as well as a change to when the demo will be out for the PS3. There will be eight teams total within the demo and they will be selectable in four different matchups. That means that OSU vs Miami is one of the matchups ...

Through a release of new screenshots (check them out in the gallery) EA Sports has revealed that the NCAA Football 11 demo will feature Ohio State vs Miami. Notably though it has not been explicitly stated if those are the only two teams to choose from as usually the teams included in the demo are from the previous year's championship game. There doesn't seem to be a good reason to have gone from Alabama vs Texas to OSU and Miami. Also noted from the screens are the inclusion of the team's Nik...

EA Sports has unveiled the team ratings for Madden 11 via Gamespot. The top rated team in the game will be no surprise with the reigning Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints pulling in a 92 rating. The Colts, Ravens, Jets, and Vikings round out the top five while the Rams sit in the basement with a 66 rating. The biggest shifts from the final update for Madden 10 are seen with a six point increase for the Washington Redskins and an eight point drop for the Arizona Cardinals. Those changes co...

ESPN has posted an article detailing a new addition to Madden of online scouting. In online games players will be able to view the tendencies of their opponents in a variety of situations. You can check out the full article here. "Online scouting tracks all of your play-calling and what you like to do in different situations," explains producer Donny Moore. "We're tracking every online game that you play: online ranked, unranked, and 'Madden Ultimate Team' head-to-head." And according to M...

Given that it now appears the NFL regular season and postseason will have different rules for overtime the question was how they would implemented in the different modes for Madden 11. In franchise mode the standard OT rules of year's past will apply to regular season games while the new rules will apply in the postseason. However with Play Now games and online for ranked games they could have chosen to go with either method of OT. GiantBomb has now confirmed that the new OT rules will be i...
  • Early Backbreaker Online Impressions

At the time I posted my initial impressions of Backbreaker I had been unable to play online. Now that I have I wanted to get some early thoughts out regarding online play. Many people may be looking to online to salvage the game given the troubling CPU AI faced offline. I'm pleased to say that so far just the elimination of CPU QB play and CPU play calling has made the experience much more enjoyable. However lag issues are being monitored and a puzzling design decision within the online option...

I've spent the majority of the day with Backbreaker (PS3 version). For those of you who played the demo on the 360 the final version is comparable to that. I haven't noticed any obvious differences in gameplay between the two though things have opened up a little more with the extended quarter lengths making it much better for evaluation purposes. Continue on for some of my thoughts on Backbreaker so far! (more…)...
