While my full impressions of the game went up yesterday (with online impressions to come later this week) I thought I'd get up another set of videos. There are three of them, two of which feature the Seahawks @ Giants and the other is the Chargers @ Chiefs in the rain. In addition I have added 27 screenshots to the gallery many of which came from requests in previous postings or from Twitter/Facebook. Continue on to check out the videos and leave your thoughts in the comments! (more&hellip...

For Madden 11 EA Sports decided to take the approach of making the game ultra-accessible and in doing so may have alienated some of the dedicated gamers who buy the game on a year-to-year basis. Madden 11 certainly remains fun though and has its bright spots but at the same time houses some nagging flaws and omissions. Continue on for my detailed impressions of Madden 11 having taken a ton of notes through my play time with the game. There are also additional screenshots and videos to be had. ...
  • Set of Madden 11 Gameplay Videos

The Washington Redskins go on the road to face the Philadelphia Eagles in a set of videos that cover the entirety of the game. It was definitely an entertaining one and for those of you out there who watch through it all I think it shows off some of the mixed bag that is Madden 11. If you watch more selectively I'd suggest the first and fourth videos. I've also included a segment of gameplay from a Denver Broncos @ Oakland Raiders game where I mixed in some Tim Tebow using the formation that i...

I've been concentrating all my time now on Madden 11 with the goal to post up full impressions of the game on Sunday evening. In the meantime I am working on getting up some videos and screenshots. The first full game (featuring the Redskins @ Eagles) and a portion of another (Broncos @ Raiders) will be up sometime late tonight given the lengthy process required. Having taken some requests on Twitter and Facebook I've grabbed 20 screenshots from the game thus far. You can check them out in ...
  • Madden 11 Hard Drive Evaluation

Continuing with the series of Xbox 360 hard drive installation evaluations I've gone through and compared several aspects of Madden 11 based on loading times from the disk vs the hard drive. Thankfully the Madden series has fared much better in the way of loading times and smooth menu navigation as opposed to NCAA Football over the last few years. With Madden 11 the loading times are a bit shorter from the disc and comparable from the hard drive when put up against Madden 10 and the actual gam...
  • Backbreaker Patch Now Available

The patch for Backbreaker is now available for both the 360 and PS3 and seems to have at the very least provided some improvement in the areas that really needed it. The most discussed issues now, being seen due to the introduction of the patch, appear to be a high rate of dropped passes and custom team rosters with ratings changing league wide and messed up depth charts. Those are legit concerns to monitor but otherwise the early impressions are largely positive with additions such as expande...
  • First NCAA Football 11 Tuner Set Out Now

The initial set of "gameplay tuners" for NCAA Football 11 arrived this morning. First introduced in NHL 10, EA Sports can now tweak game settings through the delivery of tuners which don't have to go through the patch process. That means adjustments can be made and new tuner sets can be sent out whenever deemed necessary without having to go through the certification period or face the restrictions that accompany patches. This tuner set includes some changes to gameplay based on feedback an...
  • What Brett Favre’s Retirement Will Mean For Madden 11
    by

The news today is that Brett Favre has decided to retire, and while everyone remains skeptical it does bring into question how it will be dealt with in Madden 11. Favre is on the default roster but should he actually go through with retirement he would be removed via roster update. EA Sports has released a statement which seems to imply he won't be removed immediately (which could be the release day update) unless he comes out and states he has chosen to retire and maybe even until the officia...
