Madden 11 Online Issues Remain Unaddressed
Eight days have passed since the release of Madden 11 and there has still been no official statements regarding the online play related troubles gamers have encountered. As covered in my online impressions the big ones include first half quits in ranked games not penalizing quitters with a loss or those quit on with a win/ability to play CPU out, quits at any point in Madden Ultimate Team ending as though they never happened with no coins being awarded, the ability to play friends or those cha...
Madden’s Facebook Offering Discovered
We've known since February that a Madden branded Facebook game was in the works. In the time since FIFA Superstars launched on Facebook and became an instant success. Companies have found the free-to-play but microtransaction/ad-supported games to be extremely lucrative. Consider especially that they have the potential to reach the hundreds of millions that actively use the social networking site as compared to more restrictive console user bases.
Bitmob came across, just by random circum...
Updates Coming to Madden Ultimate Team
Yesterday a few updates that will be rolling out for Madden 11's Madden Ultimate Team were laid out. It sounds as though they will be arriving in the patch that has been slated to be delivered around the start of the NFL's regular season.
Amongst the updates is the ability to view the lineup of teams from the leaderboard, which is pretty neat if you're interested in seeing how other teams are shaped but without the ability to play friends in the mode not sure how many will care about that. ...
NCAA Football 11 Sales Rise Over Last Year
NCAA Football 10, along with MLB 2K9, were only two franchises last year that saw sales drops. This year though we've seen that become a trend with stunningly significant skids hitting UFC Undisputed 2010 and Tiger Woods 11. The next in line that could have been threatened was NCAA Football 11. Positive word-of-mouth from both gamers and reviewers though would seem to be the primary factor in NCAA Football 11 not only holding off a drop-off but actually seeing overall sales growth.
For the ...
Madden 11 Monumental Comeback in OTP
Last night I got together with Fred and CoreySA to run through a couple games of Online Team Play in Madden 11. The memorable game of the evening included a comeback from down 28-6 late in the 3rd quarter. Though we felt like we were playing decently on both sides of the ball the opposition kept converting third downs. It took us a while but eventually we decided to dial up the pressure and what resulted was a 36-11 swing which included three INT-TDs (all by defensive lineman) and a 42-39 vict...
Madden NFL 11 Online Impressions
After a few days with Madden 11 online I've put together some impressions covering general ranked/unranked games, the addition of scouting reports, Madden Ultimate Team, and Online Team Play. Overall the online performance seems to be up to par but some design decisions have hurt the overall experience.

NCAA Football 11 Patch #2 Details
The second patch for NCAA Football 11 is now available. The patch delivers fixes in addition to what was addressed with the gameplay "tuner" set that arrived last week and a new one that is out now as well. The most notable fixes: The elimination of the QBs getting stuck in the hand-off animation and running backwards for a safety, uniforms will now get dirty, no more connection issues related to Season Showdown, and adjusted progression of punters and kickers in Dynasty mode. Continue on for ...
Your Thoughts on Madden 11
With Madden 11 now officially out leave your impressions of the game in the comments! I'll be working up an online play report for later this week, however a word of warning in advance. Ranked games don't count if quit out of in the first half. Quitters don't get a loss and those quit on don't get a win or even the chance to play the CPU out for the win (also means no coins earned). This is obviously a huge concern right now to monitor with the online experience taking a huge hit because of it...
