Next week is shaping up to be a big one for Madden NFL 12. A teaser video that will apparently reveal some new features is planned for early in the week. Now though EA Sports is starting to build anticipation for an announcement to come on Monday. Big, perhaps reassuring, news coming Monday and you're all involved....you won't want to miss this. Its the "you're all involved" part that attracted my immediate attention. There have been been some (unsubstantiated) rumors relating to the cover...

A teaser video for Madden NFL 12 will be released early next week with the news coming via Tweet from executive producer Phil Frazier. Last year the first concrete info on Madden 11 came the way of a blog on March 23rd so the timing for Madden 12 matches up almost exactly. Apparently new features will be revealed through the trailer. EA Sports has delivered a brief video discussing some of the work that has been done on visuals for NCAA Football 12. In particular the "HDR Lighting" is gone over in detail which preserves the contrast regardless of the conditions. Along with the video are six additional screenshots including one that directly compares the grass of 11 to 12. The improvements don’t end with HDR and Dynamic Exposure. As you can see in the screenshots, we have added a lot of other eye candy to the ga...

EA Sports has released the first screenshot for NCAA Football 12 via ESPN. The screen features the Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes playing in their Nike Pro Combat jerseys. There are supposedly a number of improvements and additions to be found in this screenshot that EA plans to go over in detail tomorrow. The most obvious addition based on the image would be the oft-requested dreadlocks which have been absent from the series. What else can you spot in the screen that is new?...
  • Soldier Field Coming to Madden 12

Football games have been forced to go without officially having Soldier Field as the home of the Chicago Bears. In the case of Madden it has instead been referred to as "Chicago Stadium" while NFL 2K5 called it "Chicago Field". This has all been due to a licensing issue as the stadium is owned by the Chicago Park District. They have remained unresponsive over the years despite being consistently approached for the license to use Soldier Field in games. Though the resemblance to Soldier...

EA Sports has opened up the voting for the NCAA Football 12 cover athlete. The process is being conducted on Facebook from the NCAA Football page. As reported yesterday Alabama RB Mark Ingram, Washington QB Jake Locker, Oklahoma RB DeMarco Murray, and Auburn DT Nick Fairley are the candidates in the running for the honor. While this is being conducted on Facebook in part to boost the "Like" number of the page (it is required to "Like" it in order to cast a vote) doing so should help to prev...

The four candidates for the cover of NCAA Football 12 have been uncovered. As posted earlier the final choice will be determined via fan vote that will begin tomorrow on Facebook. The choice will be made between Washington QB Jake Locker, Auburn DT Nick Fairley, Oklahoma RB DeMarco Murray, and Alabama RB Mark Ingram. Ingram as a former Heisman winner and with the backing of such a strong fan base would appear to be the front-runner. Locker could get support from the west coast and pull off ...
