Release of Second Patch for NCAA Football 12 is Nearing
EA Sports announced earlier today that next patch for NCAA Football 12, which will address at least the no-huddle issue introduced in the last patch, has cleared internal certification and is now in the hands of Microsoft and Sony. In general the expectation at this point in the process would be for approval and going live in the next two weeks. It is unclear if what, if any, other changes are being introduced in the aforementioned patch.
Unfortunately the time it has taken to develop and...
EA Discusses the Formula Behind Madden NFL 12’s Successful Launch
Heading into a year of uncertainty EA Sports faced a number of questions on how to handle the release of Madden NFL 12. Awareness levels had to be raised regardless of the lockout being lifted or not and a release date shift became a consideration. All things considered the company excelled at setting up Madden to take advantage of the return of the NFL - as shown by the 10% increase in sales and generally positive word of mouth which could propel momentum through the holiday season.

Another Patch Coming for NCAA Football 12
After arriving with a myriad of issues EA Sports released a patch two weeks ago that was meant to address many of them. Unfortunately that patch introduced a new issue as it created a playbook bug while running no-huddle that affected both offense and defense.
Today the company announced that another patch has reached internal testing - after which it will need to go to Microsoft and Sony (meaning it's probably around three weeks out). The patch's intention is to fix the no-huddle bug. It...
Madden NFL 12 Week Two Upcoming Roster Update Discussion
It's still very early in the NFL season but certain trends have already begun to emerge and individual players have either reestablished themselves coming off last season or are showing signs of breaking out. While there probably won't be many huge ratings swings in this week's Madden NFL 12 roster update it should be setting up for that time which justifiably is nearing.
Another round of severe injuries has landed Jamaal Charles, Thomas Davis, Nick Collins, and Jordan Shipley on IR. Mile...
Eli Manning Loses His Clutch Trait
One aspect of the latest Madden NFL 12 roster update that I didn't address earlier was the removal of the 'clutch' trait from Eli Manning. Having already broken down the 36 players in the NFL who originally received the trait - which provides a ratings boost during in-game pressure situations - Manning stood out as one of the most questionable. Still it was surprising to see the change made after just a single outing. (more…)...
Madden NFL 12 Roster Update #3 Details
EA Sports has released full details on what to expect in the post-week one roster update for Madden NFL 12. There are over 500 moves made in this update including ratings changes, roster adjustments, injuries, and jersey number fixes. The update is expected out for the Xbox 360 and PS3 on Friday morning.
The Chiefs and Panthers have lost impact players on their respective defenses for the season as Eric Berry and Jon Beason hit the IR. The biggest ratings boost goes to Bills' TE Scott Cha...
Madden NFL 12 Roster Updates to Incorporate Hot and Cold Streaks
There has always been a debate about whether Madden ratings should be tweaked on a week-to-week basis as one game could always be an anomaly. Fans love the weekly roster updates though and as the season goes on they tend to operate more on trends over a several week period rather than just a single game. There now may be a better way to reflect how players are performing without necessarily shifting their ratings too much too soon. (more…)...
