IGN has posted a set of screens for APF 2K8. And to most I'd imagine they will be considered a disappointment. Check them out here. So there is now no question that the edge in graphics goes to Madden. I'd have to say that it even surprises me how poor these look and I didn't have high expectations. Take a look at the crowd and the grass. That is next-generation? The giant bird is beyond ridiculous. Its wings represent the retractable roof, but why is the roof closed to when there is cl...

2K Sports has released the soundtrack listing for APF 2K8. All-Pro Football 2K8 will feature a DJ Z-Trip produced soundtrack with all original tracks, remixes and mash-ups. Z-Trip, the famed originator of the mash-up craze and renowned remixer and producer, has given a twist to the art of combining disparate songs by having the Dead Prez provide an all-new rap over a rocking Deftones’ track. He also mashes up Rakim with Chevelle, while remixing “Tom Sawyer,” the classic Rush song. In ...
  • All-Pro Football 2K8 Cover Art

It appears the final cover art has been released for All-Pro Football 2K8. You can see the full size image by clicking the thumbnails below. The artistic style of the cover gives it the feel of being from the "past" however there is just something about it that doesn't click with me. Blitz: The League went a similar route with their covers. I feel like it's the cartoony look (especially in the case of Elway) that doesn't come across right. Probably was a good idea to feature a trio as o...

The following image has emerged on the Operation Sports message board. It was not released by 2K Sports so the authenticity is not verified. Click the thumbnail for the full screen. First of all the screenshot may be real or it may not. However leaning towards the side of it being legit it certainly looks good. However the general lack of excitement coming from the media sites that saw the trailer makes you wonder if the game looks that good all around or if it could just be they have con...

In a podcast from 1up on May 31st, APF 2K8 was touched upon after some time checking out the game. Some of the information that was laid out: 11 legends is the maximum per team, the rest are generic players. The legends are broken into three tiers. Gold, Silver, and Bronze. There is a max per tier you can have on your team. 2 Gold, 3 Silver, 6 Bronze. There is some level of customization to generic players. Without having player ratings in the game though it will likely just be things...
  • A sign of a release date for All-Pro Football 2K8?

Posted May 25th, 2007 at 4:33 am No Comments »
No official announcement of the release date for APF 2K8 has been made as of yet. Thus, the speculation on it continues. Gamestop and EB Games have changed the estimated ship date for the Xbox 360 version on their websites to Monday July 16th. However the PS3 version continues to display the date of August 14th that had previously been listed for both. Best Buy's website has a mid-July date shown of the 15th and Gamefly shows July 18th. If this holds true it would put All-Pro Football ...
  • The OJ in 2K debate heats up

In the latest thoughts from Gamespot on All-Pro Football 2K8, the topic of OJ Simpson being in the game was addressed again. In fact it actually ended up the dominant topic. I wrote this article last week on the same issue. More troubling than that who has been left out, however, is who is actually in the game. I'm speaking of O.J. Simpson, of course. When asked about Simpson's appearance on the roster, Visual Concepts president Greg Thomas said his team was focused on what players did on ...
  • Tecmo Bowl 2008 teaser trailer

We still don't know what console the new Tecmo Bowl will be on (360? PS3? Wii?) or even if it may end up on something like the Nintendo DS. But here is a teaser trailer to get you pumped up for it. No it doesn't show anything new or of any substance (it's actually kinda cheesy) but it's still pretty neat to see and hear from Tecmo Bowl once again. ...
