2K Sports has released a new trailer for APF 2K8 showing off a wide array of catch animations. For the most part they do look really good. It is encouraging that they released something new for the game and a trailer such as this does a good job increasing awareness and getting it more attention. The animations were expected to be a strong point so it is no surprise that they come across well in a highlight trailer. There will be five more of these type of videos coming in the near future. ...
  • 2K’s marketing taking hits left and right

You know its not a good sign when the marketing of a game becomes the most discussed topic about it. Whether it be on the 2K Sports or Operation Sports forums (really the only two places the game is being discussed at all), reading up on All-Pro Football 2K8 you'll find many comments and threads talking about the marketing (or lack thereof). When message boards are overrun with marketing discussion something has gone terribly wrong. If that isn't bad enough, right in the ...

***As of the afternoon on June 20th, GamingAge has removed all of the screenshots that they had posted. No explanation has been given.*** GamingAge has released a new preview of APF 2K8 as well as 30 new screens of the game. The preview doesn't really offer up anything that hasn't already been covered. One note that seems to be news though is that created players are considered legends and go into the legend pool. Selecting a created player for your team will take up one of the 11 legen...
  • All-Pro Football could become biyearly title

Within the Operation Sports impressions it was mentioned that 2K Sports' Anthony Chau stated how they are considering All-Pro Football as a title that could be released every other year. However it depends on how well this one sells whether or not the franchise will have a future. Now, if everything is riding on how well 2K8 does, why are they pushing out a bare bones game that has no depth? This is a game that has no franchise mode, lacks presentation, doesn't have full customization opt...

Operation Sports has checked in from the media event they attended today with impressions from their hands-on with the game. Some of the details are going to be tough for those anticipating the game to swallow. Overall it seems that the game will cater to those who enjoyed 2K5 but many of the elements of what made it a success are missing. Below are some of the highlights (continue through to the full article for all of them): One negative is the presentation. There is a very barebones halft...
  • “Signal stealer” attribute in All-Pro Football 2K8

In one of the first true hands-on previews to come out, Vetzballin mentioned that there is an attribute for some quarterbacks called "signal stealer". Joe Montana had one listed for Signal Stealer for his ability to read and know exactly what the defense was doing. Quarterbacks with signal stealer as one of their attributes will be able to see what play you called on defense by pressing the X button. Not knowing all of the specifics makes it difficult to judge at this point. This wa...
  • Media sites getting time with All-Pro Football 2K8

Still with only a marginal amount to go on and only a month away from the (supposed) release date, All-Pro Football 2K8 will get a chance to change the unenthusiastic atmosphere around the game when they showcase it to media sites. There is at least one event being held on Friday June 15th as representatives from Operation Sports will be in attendance. It is unknown exactly how much time will be spent with the game, although it sounds like it will be splitting 2 hours with The Bigs. So how deta...
  • 2K may have sparked more controversy to come

The first questionable decision from 2K Sports that was sure to cause debate was the inclusion of OJ Simpson in the game. That one made for reasonably balanced discussion and both sides had solid arguments. However the latest thing to come out of All-Pro Football 2K8 really can not be defended. In one of the recent screenshots, a stadium for the team called the Indians was shown. Included in the stadium were tepees on the sidelines and a giant bear wearing face paint. That certainly can be...
