The official website for Madden 09 went live earlier today following the announcement that the 20th Anniversary Collectors Edition would include NFL Head Coach 09. From the main page of the site you can access the press release containing details of the collectors edition along with links to new Head Coach videos and features. It also notes that "the countdown begins 4/5/08". Whether that countdown will lead into the NFL Draft or something else (cover announcement?) isn't immediately clear. ...
  • Tecmo Bowl 2008 platform uncertainty

Tecmo Bowl 2008 was announced back in May of last year however since there has essentially been no follow up at all. Even where it's headed is in question as the only hint they gave at the time was how it would "probably not be on the platform that you’re expecting". In the January issue of EGM it was reported that the game was being made for the 360 and PS3. Now though the same publication is suggesting that it will be a Wii title. So once again we are back at square one wondering wha...

EA Sports has released the first official trailer for NFL Head Coach 09. Some of the aspects of the game shown briefly include the play creator, free agent negotiation, coaching decisions, and actual on the field action. The game looks really good at this point and it definitely sounds like they're on top of the features and options that are necessary to make it work. Graphically it is such a drastic improvement over the previous Head Coach in every way including the on field action, sid...

EA Sports has released 22 more screens from the upcoming NFL Head Coach 09. The majority of them focus on the Colts sideline, with a few negotiation and shots of team headquarters mixed in. I've added a couple below and the rest can be found in the screenshot gallery or by checking out the official Head Coach website. For a game not slated to release until fall (possibly coinciding with the opening week of the NFL) there has been an awful lot of info and screenshots released. From what th...
  • Take Two acquisition update and no APF 2K9?

Recently a few new developments have surfaced regarding the potential takeover of Take Two by Electronic Arts. While it has almost seemed to be inevitable, a few more curious events have taken place that seem to be in line with that eventuality. A severance plan has been created in the case of a sale that would protect employees from unjust firings. Now the two biggest shareholding firms have sold off significant portions of their stock and a shareholder lawsuit against Take Two was filed...
  • Head Coach 09 community Q&A

EA Sports has posted up a Q&A taking submitted questions from the community answered by the development team behind NFL Head Coach 09. The game is currently slated to release this fall, with Gamestop listing it as the first week of September. That would make sense given the NFL season kicks off that Thursday. Some of the items discussed include the navigational and procedural changes, the combine and draft, and new rating attributes. You can check out the full Q&A over at the offi...

The official website for NFL Head Coach 09 has gone live and it includes new details about the game. IGN also posted an early preview of the game which includes some good info which you can check out here. It seems as though they've really attempted to get away from the procedural monotony of the original Head Coach and have introduced some live elements that will keep the pace up and make things interesting. I also have posted up the first 25 screens from the game. There are a few below ...
  • NFL Head Coach 09 officially announced

Even though it had been known to be coming, today EA Sports officially announced NFL Head Coach 09. The game will be available for the 360 and PS3 and features Indianapolis Colts' Tony Dungy on the cover. Along with the announcement should come the launching of the official website later today and possibly the first screenshots which I'll have here as soon as they're available. “In NFL Head Coach 09, the gamer has complete control of their franchise’s destiny,” ...
