Gametap was able to land the first NCAA Football 09 related interview with product manager Kendall Boyd. It's interesting that EA is out this far in front already laying out some details. We've got some dates for the future cover announcements so that may give an idea of when to expect even further info on the actual game. Some of the topics gone over include the importance of the gameplay and how they want to open it up this year, improved atmosphere, the new breakaway animation engine, ...

EA Sports has released the first two screenshots from NCAA Football 09 showing off Xbox 360 cover athlete Darren McFadden. Of course McFadden won't even be in the game but they have featured him here to coincide with the cover announcement. I did email in to get confirmation that these are official 09 screens released by EA (they are). They just aren't all that impressive and I wondered at first if they were legit. If you go back to the first two screens of 08 which had Jared Zabransky an...

As speculated upon after the news that Darren McFadden would be the Xbox 360 cover athlete for NCAA Football 09 broke, EA has made it official that there will be four platform specific cover athletes this year that will come from different regions of the country. If you count the mascot on the cover of the Wii version that means all five will have their own exclusive covers. The PS3 version will be announced on April 24th with the PS2 and PSP covers being announced in early May. "These f...

As revealed Wednesday on G4's X-Play, Arkansas RB Darren McFadden will be the cover athlete for the 360 version of NCAA Football 08. We know that a mascot will be on the cover of the Wii version but that doesn't explain why they were specific to him being on the cover of the 360 version. Given the developments it won't be long before EA Sports issues the press release officially announcing this and likely detailing what is going on with the covers for the PS3 and PS2 versions. McFadden will ...

Over the last few months there has been speculation that the Wii would be getting its own version of NCAA Football with the 09 releases. It appears that Gamestop/EB has at least semi-confirmed that NCAA Football 09 will be released on the Wii. It is now available for pre-order with a tentative price of $49.99 and release date of July 15th. Generally this information isn't updated un...

Campus Legend and Superstar modes have become very popular as an alternative to the standard offline Dynasty or Franchise modes. Allowing for someone to play the game from the perspective of a single player is appealing and unique all the while coming across as less intimidating to play through. After a couple years these new modes have gotten better but there are still many changes that could made to enhance the experience. NCAA Football 08's Campus Legend turned out better than Madden 0...
