It has been rumored (to no one's surprise) that Tim Tebow will be on the cover of NCAA Football 11. What has remained uncertain is whether Tebow would be the universal cover athlete or if he would just be on a single version with different players appearing on the others. The last two years have had a different cover athlete represent the 360, PS3, PS2, and PSP. Tebow though has the collegiate stature that potentially could have been tempting enough for EA to consider using him as the sole cov...

Over the weekend I posted regarding an interview Kotaku had with EA about how some high school nicknames were included in the audio for NCAA Football 10 for use with the Teambuilder feature. Over 2400 were recorded for the game but despite that there are still schools out there missing from the database. The full list of nicknames can be found here. Last year EA Sports took submissions to add in last names for the announcers to say. Now for NCAA Football 11 they are taking nickname submissi...

Everyone fully expects Tim Tebow will be on the cover of NCAA Football 11. That could happen as the cover athlete for just one particular system with EA Sports having provided different covers for each version the last two years. There is also the chance that a player with the collegiate stature of Tebow would provide reason enough for EA to go back into just having a single universal cover athlete. So it comes as little surprise that a report today states that Tebow is close to finalizing ...

The Heisman Trophy Presentation will take place Saturday night at 8ET/5PT on ESPN. It is really difficult to predict how things will turn out as there is no clear favorite to win it this year. With five candidates this time around different arguments can be made in favor of or against each player. Continue on to view the candidates and vote in the poll for the player you think deserves the award. (more…)...

A survey distributed by EA may have provided some insight into improvements and new features that are being considered for NCAA Football 11. The questionnaire asks for a selection of the top three out of 13 choices. Included are things like an Athletic Director mode with stadium creator, authentic team entrances, and ESPN style TV presentation. While there is no guarantee any of the options will make it in the game it does stand to reason that some of them will. Of the possible selections...
  • Judge Dismisses One Lawsuit Against EA

A lawsuit filed by former NFL player Jim Brown against Electronic Arts over the use of his likeness in past Madden games has been dismissed. Brown had made the claim that having a player similar in make-up to him represented a "false endorsement" even though his name was ever included in the game. The New York Times has a full article on the story here. “The Madden NFL video games are expressive works, akin to an expressive painting that depicts celebrity athletes of past and present in a r...

In an unexpected development EA Sports has released a third patch for NCAA Football 10. It is rare to see more than two patches released for any game because Microsoft and Sony charge a significant sum for each patch after the first two. In the case of NCAA Football 10 putting out a third was a welcome positive gesture considering some of the problems people have had with the game this year. Though for many people it will have been to late to make a difference. This patch addressed the pl...
