    The voting in the quarterfinals for both brackets in the Madden NFL 25 cover campaign continues until next Wednesday with support being cast through the ESPN SportsNation page. The lowest seeds remaining are two fives and otherwise it's all the big names that were expected to still be around at this point. That could change though heading into the semifinals.     The cover campaign featuring both legends and current stars for Madden NFL 25 has reached the third round. The "Old School" and "New School" brackets are now in the Elite Eight stage with the eventual winner from each side facing off for the honor.     The results from the first round of the Madden NFL 25 cover competition that came in a few days ago will help to provide some insight on where the voting base is trending and the chances for each entrant going forward. There were no real shockers in the round involving active players though a few lower seeds moved on in tight races.     The results from the first round of the Madden NFL 25 cover competition that came in yesterday will help to provide some insight on where the voting base in trending and the chances for each entrant going forward. Interestingly all of the 10 seeds in the running through both brackets advanced but are facing almost sure elimination as they go up against the 2 seeds.     The competition involving 32 legends and 32 active players to win the cover of Madden NFL 25 has now moved forward to the second round. A campaign to push Jake Delhomme over Joe Montana failed miserably as 92% of the votes went Montana's way. A day after claiming he was a lock to win the whole thing Chad Johnson has thankfully been knocked out by Tim Brown. Over 21 million votes were cast in the round.     A few days of voting still remain in the first round of the Madden NFL 25 cover tournament. 64 candidates are involved with 32 legends in one bracket and 32 current stars in the other.     The biggest surprise in free agency has come with Wes Welker departing the Patriots for the Broncos on a modest two year contract. The Seahawks added to the defensive line by bringing in the top two pass rushers available this offseason - Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett - for short term deals.
