NBA Live 08 Chris Paul screenshots
EA Sports has released a handful of new screens featuring Chris Paul from NBA Live 08. Paul is the cover athlete for NBA 2K8, so of course it is sure to draw a reaction. After seeing the disappointing screenshots released for 2K8 (and that is especially so with the two showing Paul) EA has come out and presented their own version of him for direct comparison. Screenshot comparison: NBA Live 08 vs NBA 2K8
I went ahead and placed an NBA Live 08 screenshot side-by-side with each of the five new NBA 2K8 screens. I didn't use the dunk contest ones from 2K8 since there is nothing comparable from Live in terms of the environment. I attempted to find two that were at least close to matching up. Both games are set to come out on the same day (October 2nd) so they should be in similar states of development.
Before anyone makes the comment, obviously screens don't determine which game will end up b...
Details on the Slam Dunk Contest in NBA 2K8
Gamespot has posted hands-on impressions and some of the specifics to the new Slam Dunk Contest being introduced in NBA 2K8. You can read the article here. It's stated that 2K is "looking into online play". Unfortunately that wording leads me to believe it won't happen this year. Even with NBA Live's Slam Dunk Contest over the past couple years it just doesn't do much for me because it hasn't been taken online yet. I don't have the patience to learn t...
First screenshots from NBA 2K8
We finally have the first look at NBA 2K8 as 2K Sports has released a set of screens from the game. Unfortunately it's quite apparent that the game didn't get the graphical upgrade that other 2K titles NHL 2K8 and MLB 2K7 received over their previous versions. They have this overly waxy look to the players and all have the same dead facial expression. The environment such as the court and crowd look like they may be improved but are difficult to judge from these. The screenshots do...

How will Michael Vick be dealt with in Madden?
EA Product Manager Jerrold Smith has stated that both Michael Vick and Pacman Jones will be included in the original roster that ships with Madden 08. Generally rosters for sports titles are locked in about a month and a half before the release date. So in the case of Michael Vick it isn't that surprising to hear that he'll be in the game. However it is curious that Pacman Jones still found his way in despite being suspended for the full year on May 17th. Knowing this info it is al...

NBA Live 08 to run at 60fps on both the 360 and PS3
Amidst all the discussion regarding the differences in framerate between the 360 and PS3 versions of Madden 08, NCAA Football 08, and All-Pro Football 2K8 (360=60fps, PS3=30fps) brings news regarding NBA Live 08. *Edit: Since this posting NHL 08 has also been confirmed to be 60fps on the 360 but only 30fps on the PS3. EA has been discussing the 60fps that Live will have since they began marketing the game. However with the story being how they (along with 2K) weren't able to get ...
