Continuing the series of 360 hard drive performance evaluations this time brings about NCAA Football 10. I've gone through and compared several aspects of the game based on loading times. The NCAA Football series has been especially plagued by long loading times, laggy menus, and tedious menu navigation so the hope would be this could cut down on some of that. As always the other benefits of installing to the hard drive such quieter running and less stress on the 360 remain. (more&hellip...
  • Madden 10 OF Super Bowl Video

EA Sports has released a video chronicling the events of the Online Franchise Super Bowl that some in the office had been participating in. Lead developer Ian Cummings was able to get his Titans to the Super Bowl to take on the Cowboys. The video contains a good deal of quality gameplay footage. Keep in mind that the video comes from an old build, probably two months old or thereabouts. There wouldn't be a way to update the build and transfer over an existing franchise. So some things not...

How many times have we seen this one? A couple of gamers get together and try to sue one of the largest video game makers in the world over a sports game?  Usually it’s some die hard NFL 2K fan coming up with some whacky scheme to sue EA Sports in hopes of them losing their exclusive license with the NFL. This time around, we aren’t just talking about gamers. We are also throwing in an Economics professor the University of Michigan. Gamepolitics.com has the story: A Unive...
  • Public Madden 10 Demo Keeps Getting Worse

After the disappointment with the structure of the Fight Night Round 4 demo rollout (two weeks early for Gamestop preorders) I was hopeful that a similar situation wouldn't be encountered again. Unfortunately the more information that comes out about the demo situation for Madden 10 the more disappointing it becomes. At first it was discovered that Gamestop preorders would get a full five minute quarters demo featuring the Super Bowl match-up of Steelers vs Cardinals. That was to be the i...
  • Madden 10 Demos Dated

Yesterday Gamestop sent out an email detailing the plans for the Madden 10 demo. The exclusive five minute quarters demo featuring the Cardinals vs Steelers will be available to download using the code obtained from Gamestop on Thursday July 23rd. Those codes will apparently be available in the stores on July 15th. They will be in limited supply so it would be a good idea to call the stores on that day and head in to get it before they're all gone. What wasn't clear from the email was whe...

This week's Inside EA Blog for Madden 10 covers improvements that have been made to play calling and the playbooks. A lot has been done to give each teams their own identities based on how they play in real life as well as how they could change in the game due to player movement. You can check it out the article in full here. Another example we'll showcase is the Colts. Again, researching their playcalling percentages on first down, they are more of a passing team with Peyton Manning (56% p...

EA is set to announce the Madden NFL Hall of Fame program tomorrow. This is something that is community driven in determining what players or game related history makes the Hall of Fame based on different criteria. Gamestop has the early word on this in their blog and EA will lay it out in great detail tomorrow. Because it's a community-driven initiative, fan involvement is KEY. As an active member of the Madden Community, you can be a guiding force for the direction of the Madden NFL Hall ...

In the earlier posting the focus was on the first big names to commit to new teams. Those were Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva to the Pistons and Hedo Turkoglu to the Trailblazers (which has earlier been confirmed - and updating has now apparently fallen apart). Yesterday a new wave of news came with agreements coming in from Ron Artest and Trevor Ariza. Continue on to check out the most recent developments and leave your thoughts on them in the comments.
