Though there will be no roster update this week for Madden 11 the performances from NFL week 16 of course will factor into the next one. For the first time ever this posting goes up on a Wednesday, as it follows the completion of the rare Tuesday Night Football broadcast! The Pro Bowl rosters were announced yesterday so it is possible those will be updated coming up too. This was a relatively flat week in performances, which is particularly tough considering it was the Championship week for...

Madden faces far and away the heaviest scrutiny of any sports game franchise. Various boundaries placed on the series have kept the game from really breaking out of the perception that each year simply brings about a marginal upgrade. Madden 10 was an excellent attempt even exceeding many expectations but Madden 11 failed to follow-up on that. The fourth Madden Developer Podcast, in which I was invited on to take part, has just rolled out! It turned out to be a wide ranging discussion on the industry and the big picture of Madden and sports gaming. Though I did express some thoughts at times the format was not along the lines of a Q&A, and hopefully that is something that can be accomplished down the line. A couple interesting things of note that were mentioned in the podcast is a 50/50 split between Franchise and Online play...
