This morning Nintendo officially announced details for the upcoming release of the 3DS. The portable system with glasses-less 3D will go for $249.99 and release on Sunday March 27th. Madden NFL Football for the 3DS had its initial features revealed back in November. Madden will include GameFlow play-calling as an option, a standard season mode, a 5-on-5 arcade mode, "Call Your Shots" which was initially introduced on the Wii version, and "Spotlight Moments" which first came about on the mob...

Last week's roster update for Madden 11 cleaned up some of the players that had been off considering performance over the course of the full season and also returned some from injury. Should there be a roster update following the divisional round of the NFL Playoffs (not yet confirmed) it will take mostly into account the eight teams that played over the weekend. Some of the standout games in the divisional round came from Aaron Rodgers, Tramon Williams, Greg Olsen, Terrell Suggs, Jerome Ha...

After a few weeks off there is a new Madden 11 roster update set for release tomorrow. This update takes a wider look at developments of the whole year instead of just the end of the season and the playoffs. That also means some players are being reinserted onto rosters that had previously been removed due to injuries, though some other players on the IR won't return to active placement until the final update that comes following the Super Bowl. There are also plenty of depth chart changes and...

The roster update for Madden 11 this week will be the first since week 15 of the NFL season and is expected to encompass a wider evaluation on the season rather than just looking the developments at the end. This will probably be the biggest one remaining as the rest will concentrate on the playoffs and return players from the IR following the Super Bowl. How about Tramon Williams and James Starks for the Packers? A bunch of Seahawks played at a level unseen this season with Marshawn Lynch ...

Following a week off the final regular season roster update for Madden 11 is expected out by the end of the week. Week 17 of the NFL season is not a great one though for analyzing players since many of the games involve one or both of the teams having nothing to play for. If you missed it check out my look at the ratings for those players selected to the Pro Bowl as well as highly rated ones that didn't make the cut. Arian Foster sealed up the rushing title by going for 180 and totaled 1616...
  • Madden 11 Ratings vs Pro Bowl Selections

The Pro Bowl is hardly the most accurate way to assess the years that players are having. Some names get in more based on reputation or market exposure than performance in the current season. Still it can present the big picture of the season and in this sense I thought it'd be interesting to look at the current ratings of Pro Bowl selected players in Madden 11 as well as the highest rated players who didn't make it. In doing so there could be some overrated or underrated players exposed. (mo...
