Fox has sent down word that after two episodes they have officially canceled Lone Star. The series which had aired Mondays at 9pm will be replaced by Lie to Me which is having its premiere moved up to October 4th. Dexter Premieres to Big Ratings
The fifth season premiere of Dexter represented the most watched season premiere in 15 years for Showtime. The episode drew a total of 2.3 million viewers counting the original showing and the replay. That number is sure to rise quite a bit when on-demand and DVR numbers are factored in. Boardwalk Empire Renewed for Second Season
After just one episode the HBO series Boardwalk Empire has been renewed for a second season. The pilot, directed by Martin Scorsese, cost an astonishing $18 million to make and going forward the average cost per episode reportedly is $5 million. Thoughts on The Event Premiere
NBC pushed The Event as "event" television, with a heavy marketing campaign and built intrigue around the premise of the show. That can sometimes backfire, as audiences may give it a shot but they are a fickle bunch. If the premiere didn't deliver immediately they could abandon the show. So is The Event more Lost (which solidified a fan base) or FlashForward (which audiences abandoned)?
