At its Comic-Con panel today The Walking Dead debuted a trailer for its upcoming second season which will premiere on Sunday October 16th in a new time slot of 9pm. The nominees for the 2011 Emmy Awards were announced this morning with the show scheduled to take place on Sunday September 18th on Fox.
Leading the way with 21 nominations is HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce. That is followed with 19 for Mad Men, 18 for Boardwalk Empire, and 17 for Modern Family. TNT Renews Falling Skies
After premiering last month to respectable ratings the Steven Spielberg produced TNT series Falling Skies has earned a renewal. The post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama which has aired four episodes to date will receive a second season next summer. It has averaged 6.4 million viewers when combining live and DVR/on-demand showings and is performing well overseas.

The search for the replacement for Steve Carrel on The Office may be nearing its conclusion. Falling Skies Debuts to Solid Ratings
TNT launched its new original series Falling Skies last night to encouraging results. The premiere, which included two hour long episodes, collected 5.9 million viewers and a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demo. Though the show wasn't particularly engaging and felt flat with some dialogue and special effects it has promise. The backing of Steven Spielberg will buy it some time to develop. It now shifts to its regular time of 10pm on Sundays.
