As Netflix continues to expand their streaming service content they've become a potential landing spot for network series that get canceled to live on. Until now, potential opportunities discussed such as bringing on The Event for a second season haven't materialized. The one exception - and it was an especially unique case - was getting the new season of Arrested Development in 2013. Two new possibilities have recently arisen however which look to have more some level of optimism behind the...

Another player is entering the streaming content arena. Comcast has announced plans to launch Xfinity 'Streampix' which will be available free to those with the Comcast "Triple Play" (TV/internet/phone) subscriptions and $5 to those who only get cable TV. Shows including 30 Rock and movies such as Ocean's Eleven will be available to watch. This doesn't appear to an attempt at competing with Netflix, Amazon, or Hulu. Not just will the library of content pale in comparison but given the ...

After a weak set of releases last week there are number of good options this time around on DVD and Blu-ray. Puss in Boots got great reviews and excellent response from audiences, J. Edgar was thought at one time to be an Oscar contender but didn't quite live up to that stature, and Tower Heist got some really respectable reviews for a comedy - there are also the latest seasons of two Showtime comedy series. Puss in Boots (Buy at Amazon: DVD or Blu-ray/DVD combo) Long before he even met ...

It's a lackluster at best lineup of new releases hitting on DVD and Blu-ray this week. The biggest one is The Rum Diary and even that only made $13 million at the box office. The latest season of Beavis and Butt-Head however is well worth picking up. The Rum Diary (Buy at Amazon: DVD or Blu-ray) Based on the debut novel by Hunter S. Thompson. Tiring of the noise and madness of New York and the crushing conventions of late Eisenhower-era America, Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp) travels to the pri...
