Falling Skies Debuts to Solid Ratings
TNT launched its new original series Falling Skies last night to encouraging results. The premiere, which included two hour long episodes, collected 5.9 million viewers and a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demo. Though the show wasn't particularly engaging and felt flat with some dialogue and special effects it has promise. The backing of Steven Spielberg will buy it some time to develop. It now shifts to its regular time of 10pm on Sundays.

Hangover II Tattoo Dispute Resolved
Earlier this month Warner Bros. made it known that they would have to digitally alter the face tattoo on Ed Helms' character Stu in The Hangover: Part II if a legal dispute with the man who held a copyright on the design could not be resolved in time. Today though the studio announced a settlement with S. Victor Whitmill for an undisclosed amount and no changes will have to be made in the film.

Final Trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
Warner Bros. has released what will be the last trailer ever for the Harry Potter series. “The end begins as Harry, Ron, and Hermione go back to Hogwarts to find and destroy Voldemort’s final horcruxes, but when Voldemort finds out about their mission, the biggest battle begins and life as they know it will never be the same again”. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is slated to release on July 15th.

Review: Super 8
Director J.J. Abrams crafted a marketing campaign for Super 8 that attempted to disguise much of the plot and create mystery around the monster reveal. Wanting to respect that and experience it the way it was intended I entered the film having actively tried to avoid as much information on the film as possible. Russell Crowe May Play Jor-EL in Superman: Man of Steel
According to Variety Russell Crowe is in talks to take on the role of Jor-El in the Superman reboot Man of Steel. Jor-El is father to Kal-El (Superman) and a scientist on the planet Krypton who foresees the planet's fate and saves his son by sending him to Earth.

The Killing Gets Second Season
AMC today announced that its original series The Killing has been renewed for a second season. Based on the Danish series Forbrydelsen the show follows the investigation into a murder and touches on the emotional impact to the family and a political campaign's connections. Ratings have been consistently decent - not spectacular - but at least ahead of what the canceled Rubicon did prior.
