Fox has released the first full trailer for Avatar. Reaction to the previous teaser was mixed however that isn't all that surprising considering it isn't being seen in 3D. The film is intended to be viewed in 3D theaters and the result is supposedly spectacular. Needless to say this new trailer will garner much stronger support. Written and directed by James Cameron and starring Sam Worthington, Avatar represents a work that was originally envisioned by Cameron in 1994 but the technology ...

As announced yesterday NBC will not be ordering any new episodes of the freshman show Trauma. The original pickup was for 13 episodes and those will air as planned. Trauma was easily the most expensive new program for NBC this year and despite decent ratings it wasn't enough to keep the show going. This move has led to speculation that Chuck will take over Trauma's Monday night at 9PM time slot and be coupled with Heroes. Six additional episodes of Chuck have also apparently been ordered ...

After five seasons Battlestar Galactica completed its run earlier this year. Because an end date was known ahead of time everything was wrapped up really well and it had a very thought-provoking conclusion. That hasn't stopped the Battlestar universe from continuing on however. The SyFy series Caprica will premiere in January and that show debuted with a movie a few months ago. It is essentially the origin story centered on humanity and the creation of the Cylons. Out now on DVD and Blu-ray...

  • New on DVD: Week of October 27

It seems to be another quiet week for DVD and Blu-ray releases. The only movie I'd probably pick up is the Blu-ray version of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. This might be my favorite Christmas movie, and is definitely my favorite of all the 'Vacation' movies. Amazon.com has posted a video of all the extras you get with the collector's edition pack, and I must say it is definitely worth the price. Some of the stuff included are holiday collectibles, so you'll be able to use them every C...
