Top DVD Sales and Rentals for Week Ending January 10, 2010
It should come as no surprise that Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs was the top selling DVD last week. Animated movies always sell well, but this one was actually entertaining. The Hangover fell to third in sales, but still took the top spot for most rented DVD. Below is the list of DVD sales and rentals for the week ending January 10, 2010:

Joe Johnston Talks Jurassic Park IV and Captain America
Having started the promotional rounds for The Wolfman, director Joe Johnston has addressed the future of two high profile movies on his slate. While talking with Boxoffice.com he stated that Jurassic Park IV will happen and that it could be the start of a new trilogy. Reitman Confirms He’ll Direct Ghostbusters 3
MTV is reporting that Ivan Reitman will be returning to direct Ghostbusters 3. Reitman directed the first two films, which were released in 1984 and 1989.
Reitman said that the script from "Year One" writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky is in and that a second draft is currently in the works. He also confirmed that he will indeed be returning to direct the coming sequel, as had been previously speculated.

Two new ‘Fast & Furious’ Films in the Works
Can't get enough of Vin Diesel? Me either. And now we are going to see a bit more of him as we find out today there are two new Fast & Furious films in development. According to Vin Diesel's Facebook page:

Conan O’Brien Leaving The Tonight Show
After NBC announced plans to move Jay Leno back to 11:35 all eyes have been on Conan O'Brien who had the big decision to make. He could either do "The Tonight Show" at 12:05 or leave the network. He has chosen to do the latter, and while monetary details aren't being specified by him it is believed that he will be owed $80 million in the process.

Chuck Performs Well While Heroes Tanks
After premiering very well the focus turned to how Chuck would hold up in its standard time slot on Monday nights at 8pm. There was thought that going head-to-head with House along with CBS' monster comedies and The Bachelor would eat into its ratings, but it appears that the competition provided by a huge Simpsons ratings draw on Sunday was comparable to what it faced on Monday night.

New on DVD: Week of January 11
2010 continues to bring us less than stellar movie releases. This week is worse than the previous week. If you're a fan of musicals, Fame hits stores this week. The film received a 90% 'fresh rating' on Rottentomatoes.com I did manage to see Tyler Perry's I can do Bad All By Myself. It' your typical Tyler Perry movie and doesn't stray away from his usual formula, so if you're a fan of his movies you'll enjoy this one. Simon Cowell Leaving ‘American Idol’, Launching ‘X Factor’
Variety is reporting that Simon Cowell will leave American Idol after this season to bring The X Factor to the U.S. Cowell will serve as an executive producer and judge on the show.
