Back in November the first details of Scream 4 were revealed, but we weren't sure if Wes Craven would direct the film. MTV caught up with original Scream cast members Courtney Cox and David Arquette at The Golden Globes, where the two shared some more details of the upcoming film. Both weren't on the same page though when it came to a confirmation. Asked if Craven would return to direct Scream 4, Arquette had this to say: “Yes, Wes is in, Neve is in, everyone is in.” "I can't...

The Golden Globes just wrapped up after an entertaining evening. Ricky Gervais was hilarious as the host though he only appeared sparingly. There were some surprises as the night seemed to favor underdogs in many of the categories. Continue on for the winners in each category and my initial thoughts on each. (more…)...

It was the fifth straight weekend at the top of the box office for Avatar but The Book of Eli and The Lovely Bones performed well and slightly above expectations. Avatar is quickly approaching the record held by Titanic of the highest grossing movie of all time. It is already over $1.6 billion worldwide and at this pace could surpass Titanic in the next couple weeks. No one seriously contemplated this happening before Avatar came out and anyone would've been laughed at suggesting it could a...

The Golden Globes are generally entertaining due to the laid back party atmosphere. Taking advantage of that will be the host Ricky Gervais as it airs on Sunday night at 8ET/5PT on NBC. Outside of the hilarity he is sure to deliver there is some genuine intrigue in the categories this year. While the Globes are voted on by the Hollywood Foreign Press they are still seen as an indicator of the upcoming nominations and potential winners at the Academy Awards as well. I went through each categ...
  • Michael Bay Talks ‘Transformers 3′

Even before Transformers hit theaters we knew we could expect massive explosions, dazzling special effects, and a not so in-depth story. That is usually the recipe for a Michael Bay film, and the first two Transformer movies were no different. Will that be the case for Transformers 3? Not according to director Michael Bay. The Los Angeles Times reports: So can we expect more thunderous sound in the third installment? Although the number of robots increased significantly from the first fil...

The first threat to Avatar's reign at the top of the box office arrives this weekend with The Book of Eli. Also new for the weekend is the Jackie Chan comedy The Spy Next Door while The Lovely Bones expands wide after showing in very limited release for the last month. The last few years have changed the perception of January as being a dumping ground for studios. The Book of Eli looks to take advantage of an opening by providing the star-power of Denzel Washington and a story that will app...
  • Jimmy Kimmel Crushes Jay Leno

For some reason Jimmy Kimmel was booked onto The Jay Leno Show to take part in the "10 at 10" segment last night. This was an odd decision for two reasons. The first is that he works for a competing network in late night (ABC). The second is that just earlier this week on his show Kimmel took shots at Leno by doing an impression of him. Kimmel is obviously in the corner of Conan O'Brien so whether NBC thought this would create buzz or if Leno is just that naive either way it was a bizarre deci...

TMZ is now reporting that NBC has officially made the deal with Jay Leno that will take him back to hosting The Tonight Show at 11:35. This completely seals the fate of Conan O'Brien who had refused to move out of that time slot and follow a half hour Leno. After the Olympics Leno will be back in late night with the full hour that he had wanted and as such there will be no changes to Jimmy Fallon or Carson Daly's shows. There are a few rumors out there now regarding how quickly Conan will b...
