Disney has released a full length trailer for Tron Legacy, the sequel to the 1982 classic Tron. Jeff Bridges returns in his role of Kevin Flynn and Garrett Hedlund plays his son Sam Flynn. The movie also stars Olivia Wilde and Michael Sheen. The story centers on Sam attempting to find his father, who has been missing since the events of the original film, leading him to enter the Master Control Program and face tests in a much more technologically advanced setting than before. MTV caught up with actor Ed Helms this past Friday at the Spirit Awards. Helms shared some news on the upcoming sequel to the 2009 smash hit. "Well, we're gonna shoot it, and it's gonna to be awesome," he said. "It's gonna star Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis -- I have a part apparently, which I'm excited about -- and Justin Bartha, and Todd Phillips is gonna direct it." Up to this point we hadn't heard for sure if Justin Bartha, Doug from the first film, would return for the sequel. It ...

The new trailer once again focuses on "Whiplash" (Mickey Rourke) but also features new looks at the "Black Widow" (Scarlett Johansson), Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell), and "War Machine" (Don Cheadle). What was expected to be a largely predictable 82nd Annual Academy Awards turned out to be just that. There was only one result that would largely be considered a surprise, while the few races that had some suspense played out as many had predicted. The Hurt Locker was the big winner coming away with six awards, while Avatar ended as the runner-up with three. The actual show was a mess with some terrible directing, technical issues, unfunny sequences, and an interpretive dance routine that w...

As much success as Paranormal Activity had, it was only a matter of time before we saw a sequel. One of the movies stars, Micah Sloat, spoke with MTV and shared some news on a sequel. "I know a lot I can't tell you," Sloat told MTV News. "It's really interesting — the whole director drama with the 'Saw [VI]' director [Kevin Greutert]. That's been public." "All I can tell you is that I'm very excited for the project," Sloat said. "It's really cool. It's gonna be really interesting,...

With the 82nd Annual Academy Awards taking place this evening I wanted to get my final thoughts and predictions out. This is one of the more highly anticipated Oscar ceremonies in years. Much of that due the expansion of the Best Picture nominations to include 10 films which has allowed for a few mainstream inclusions that may have not been nominated otherwise. Despite that, it is really only a race between two, with two other extreme dark horses looming. Make sure to check back shortly after ...

Great news today as Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Fox has picked up the sci-fi show Fringe for a third season. While the show has strong support from reviewers and fans it has been in some danger due to the relatively high production costs and ratings that have not been strong enough to make renewal a sure thing. It seemed like a good bet that it would be coming back but many saw Fox as having to make a decision between it and Lie to Me. No word on the latter as of yet but it is in a ...
  • Huge Opening Day for Alice In Wonderland

Showing just how much impact 3D can have on an already high interest film, Alice in Wonderland opened to a massive $41 million on Friday. That puts it on track for a weekend take of around $115 million. The Oscars could slightly impact its Sunday gross. With this the film has broken the record for the biggest opening day for a non-sequel and now has the second biggest opening day of all-time behind only Twilight: New Moon. Blowing by the expectations that pegged it in the $60-70 range, Alic...
