Late last year was the first time we had heard any real details concerning the third 'Men In Black' film. At this point all we really know is Tropic Thunder writer Etan Cohen will handle the script for the sci-fi comedy. Variety is reporting that Will Smith is still undecided and is torn between Sony's Men in Black III and 20th Century Fox's fantasy-adventure The City That Sailed. Will Smith is pondering which ship he'll captain next. It's down to two choices: Sony's "Men in Black III...
  • Michael Bay Not a Fan of 3D Conversions

In my review of Alice in Wonderland I talk about how mediocre the 3D effects are given that it was converted after being filmed. Early reports are similar for the next in the line of 3D conversions, Clash of the Titans.  Apparently Michael Bay agrees as he has now stated, after having a test run on some Transformers footage, that the conversion process results in something that "looks like fake 3D". He is currently fighting with Paramount over whether or not Transformers 3 will be released ...

Superherohype.com had the chance to sit down with director Zack Snyder to discuss his upcoming movies. Among the topics discussed were a re-release of 2007's 300 in 3D, and the prequel. Apparently, Warner Bros. converted a piece of 300 into 3D to show the director how the conversion looked. Snyder was impressed and confirmed that there is talk of re-releasing the whole film in 3D. Snyder went on to say that he may direct the 300 prequel, Xerxes, sometime after he completes Sucker Punch. "I...

Tim Burton has always been very hit or miss with me. Big Fish is one of my favorite movies and he has delivered classics like Edward Scissorhands and Beetle Juice, while many of his other films I have really disliked. His visual style and quirky, dark natured story telling works sometimes and others it doesn't. For Alice in Wonderland he created a dull world that was not able to capture any of the magic that has come with different tellings of the story over the years. (more…)...

Having not done an article on the ratings of a specific show in some time I thought this would be a good opportunity to look at a few recent premieres and a couple shows that are on the bubble in terms of renewal. Dancing With The Stars: This show tends to be more reliant on casting than other reality shows. With a strong cast this season it opened up last night with a series high of 24 million viewers and a 6.3 rating in the 18-49 demo. Life: The highly anticipated nature documentary op...

This is a pretty big week for releases compared to weeks past. The Blind Side is probably the biggest name hitting store shelves. The Oscar buzz should help in making it a popular purchase. Other notable releases include Brothers and two George Clooney films, Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Men Who Stare at Goats. Here is the full release schedule broken up by standard DVD and Blu-ray: (more…)...
  • Futurama Returns in June

It's been known for a while now that Futurama was coming back with all new episodes to air on Comedy Central. The show has taken a similar road back as Family Guy. After getting mediocre ratings in its initial run on Fox, it was canceled, only to see its popularity grow over the years due to DVD and reruns on Comedy Central. Unlike Family Guy I really enjoy Futurama, though it isn't a show that I have necessarily gone out of my way to watch. When nothing else is on its something I flip over...

Very few details have been released concerning the upcoming 'Transformers' film, but today director Michael Bay released some casting details. We find out that John Malkovich, Frances McDormand, and Ken Jeong would be joining the cast for Transformers 3. Bay posted the following on his official website: Hey, it's been a long time since I've posted. Just been a little busy. Transformers 3 has been going very well.
