Earlier this month, the first trailer was released for the new Sci-Fi Horror film Splice. A new trailer has debuted on Myspace.com. I think this trailer is much better than the first. We get a better look at the creature that is created in the film. Splice will be released in theaters on June 4. (more…)...

The next franchise in line for the 3D reinvention has begun development as news on The Ring 3D hit yesterday. The Ring released in 2002 and followed up with a sequel in 2005. Combined they made over $200 million domestically and performed exceptionally overseas. Counting in the foreign takes they made over $400 million. The sequel dropped off though by nearly half which is why the idea of another film was shelved. Of course the 3D craze is giving studios the motivation to resurrect old franchi...

A handful of solid movies releasing this week. I had the chance to see It's Complicated and thought it was fairly entertaining. The romantic comedy scored well in reviews and received a 'fresh rating' on Rottentomatoes.com Also releasing is the fantasy film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. As some might remember, this was the last feature film Heath Ledger appeared in before his untimely death. Here is the full release schedule broken up by standard DVD and Blu-ray: (more…)...

The official teaser trailer for Piranha 3D has finally been released online after having played in some theaters over the past few months. For a silly concept movie it does include some recognizable names including Elisabeth Shue, Jerry O'Connell, Adam Scott, Ving Rhames and Eli Roth. Piranha 3D is currently slated to release on August 27. Every year the population of sleepy Lake Victoria explodes from 5,000 to 50,000 for Spring Break; a riot of sun and drunken fun. But this year, thereââ‚...

Earlier today news hit about another entry in the previously thought to be complete Final Destination franchise. As mentioned in that article the Saw franchise carries a very similar formula, and that makes it difficult to believe it will come to its planned end. Saw VII is supposedly the final chapter but given the possibility that 3D will revitalize the series that doesn't look to be near a certainty. As a deadly battle rages over Jigsaw’s brutal legacy, a group of Jigsaw survivors ...

A fifth entry in the Final Destination franchise is now in development, with Eric Heisserer (A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Thing) penning the script. The Final Destination was supposed to be the last chapter in the franchise but considering it made so much money, overseas especially, New Line decided to give the green light to yet another entry. The last one made $66 million domestically and $115 overseas while being made on a budget of just $43 million. It also was released in 3D, though tha...
