Last week the teaser trailer for Piranha 3D, which had been out in theaters for some time, was made available online. Now Dimension Films has released a new full theatrical trailer for the movie which is set to release on August 27. This is very much a B-level film that is looking to capitalize on the 3D craze by providing some fun with a silly concept. It includes some recognizable actors including Elisabeth Shue, Jerry OĂ¢â‚¬â„¢Connell, Adam Scott, Ving Rhames and Eli Roth. Every year the p...

It wasn't until today that the next installment in the Batman franchise was made official as Warner Brothers has announced a planned release date of July 20th 2012 for Batman 3. This is the exact same weekend that The Dark Knight had back in 2008. Production on TDK started approximately 15 months before the movie ended up being released, which means Batman 3 would need to begin pre-production in early 2011 and start filming in the spring to keep a similar time frame. A script is currently b...

Coming off a very flat weekend at the box office one movie hopes to provide a jolt, though it is unlikely to be enough to carry the Top 10 back over the $100 million mark. The reboot of A Nightmare on Elm Street will easily capture the top spot while Furry Vengeance as the other new entry will be largely ignored. (more…)...

Several horror franchises have successfully rebooted over the past few years by offering an updated stylistic look and fresh take on the stories. The Platinum Dunes production company has been behind a few of those including Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Friday the 13th. A Nightmare on Elm Street will not be able to lay claim to a similar feat as the others. Jackie Earle Haley did a good enough job as a replacement for Robert Englund in the role of Freddy Krueger. However the other performanc...

It should come as no surprise that Avatar was the top selling DVD last week. Despite not being released with any extra DVD content, the blockbuster still set the first day sales record. Even though sales were great, it didn't manage to take the top spot in rentals. The Blind Side made a huge jump from the fifth to the top spot. Maybe the NFL Draft had something to do with it? Below is the list of DVD sales and rentals for the week ending April 25 2010: Rentrak Top 10 Selling DVDs: 1 Av...

Warner Brothers has released the full theatrical trailer for Jonah Hex. The movie based on the DC comic stars Josh Brolin, Megan Fox, and John Malkovich. I saw this trailer at a screening of A Nightmare on Elm Street last night (review coming tonight) and it was probably the highlight of the evening. Jonah Hex is slated to release on June 18. Having cheated death, gunslinger and bounty hunter Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) has one foot in the natural world and one in the supernatural realm. Jonah's ...
