Top Candidates to Replace Megan Fox in Transformers 3
With Megan Fox out of Transformers 3 the hunt has been ongoing to find an actress to play the new love interest of Shia LeBeouf's character Sam Witwicky. A model, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, is said to be the front-runner for the role according to Deadline. The other two in the running are Sarah Wright and Brooklyn Decker.

James Franco Starring in Planet of the Apes Prequel
Rise of the Apes, a prequel to Planet of the Apes, is in development with James Franco having signed on to star. As an origin story it will be set in present day San Francisco dealing with the aftermath of genetic engineering experiments that led to ultra-intelligent apes and the eventual war. Franco takes on the role of a scientist who becomes a crucial figure in the war between humans and apes. Rise of the Apes is currently slated for release on June 24th 2011....
New on DVD: Week of May 24
There isn't much releasing this week. The best movie hitting stores is probably The Road. I had the chance to see this and thought it was very good. Mass Effect Coming to the Big Screen
Legendary Pictures announced today that they have acquired the rights to the Mass Effect video game series. Mark Protosevich is now in discussions to pen the script. Protosevich is best known for writing the screenplay for I Am Legend and the now-shooting Thor. Legendary has a good track record having backed films such as The Dark Knight, 300, and The Hangover. New ‘Scream 4′ Casting Details
The Hollywood Reporter has some new details concerning the cast of Scream 4. Apparently, Dimension is in negotiations with Lake Bell, Ashley Greene, Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin.
If deals are concluded, Greene would play Campbell’s cousin Jill, essentially the heroine of the movie, and Panettiere would play her best friend, a nerdy film geek. Culkin would play a potential love interest for Jill.

Shrek 4 and MacGruber Severely Disappoint at the Box Office
It was a down weekend at the box office with both new openings coming in way under industry expectations. Though the Shrek brand had been tarnished by the last release it was still thought to be strong enough especially considering a lack of competition and the opportunity to be buoyed by 3D ticket prices. Industry projections were were mostly in the $100 million range though some believed it could reach $130 million. It ended up taking in only $71.3 million.
