The last week of June brings us some pretty decent movies. One of the more popular choices this week should be Hot Tub Time Machine. The comedy did well in reviews and received a 'Fresh Rating' on Rottentomatoes. com. Other notables include The Crazies, and Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief. With the Predator reboot just around the corner, the original film makes it's way to Blu-ray this week. Here is the full release schedule broken up by standard DVD and Blu-ray: (m...

Speculation for some time has been that when Steve Carell's contract runs out he would leave The Office. Today it was confirmed by Carell that the upcoming season of the series will be his last. Plans are for The Office to continue on without his character of Michael Scott. The question is whether audiences will accept the show without Carell attached or if the ensemble cast can carry on the success without him. This could actually be a good thing for The Office. The Michael Scott character...

Grown Ups turned in the typical Adam Sandler first weekend and despite a mediocre start Knight and Day still has the potential to be a success. After just 10 days Toy Story 3 has already raked in $226.5 million after a $59 million second weekend. The 46% drop was higher than most Pixar films see however it also opened much bigger than any ever ...

Columbia Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for The Social Network. An adaptation of the novel based on the main players behind the founding of Facebook the film is directed by David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club, Benjamin Button). Word is that the script is excellent (it was written by Aaron Sorkin) and the novel was highly regarded to begin with but having Fincher behind it adds even more credibility. The Social Network stars Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, and Justin Timberlake a...

Ever since Guillermo Del Toro dropped out as director for The Hobbit (which will be broken into two films) there has been a great level of speculation as to who would take over. Now comes the news that Peter Jackson is in negotiation to become the new director. Jackson, having headed up the Lord of the Rings trilogy, has obvious ties to the project. His role as executive producer was thought to provide him the opportunity to work on other films, however if he does end up taking on The Hobbi...

Universal has released the first trailer for Little Fockers. The film follows up Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers with this entry that introduces children to the Focker family. All the usual suspects are back along with a few new additions including Jessica Alba. I was surprised when I realized Meet the Parents was released all the way back in 2000 and Meet the Fockers in 2004. The two combined to gross nearly $450 million domestically. The test of wills between Jack Byrnes (Robert De Ni...
