    Sony Pictures has made an announcement via Twitter that Andrew Garfield has been cast as Peter Parker in the Spider-Man reboot. The list of rumored candidates from the start included Garfield along with Logan Lerman, Josh Hutchinson, Anton Yelchin, and Jamie Bell.     Twilight: Eclipse has captured the record for a Wednesday opening having collected $68.5 million. $30 million of that came from midnight showings representing yet another record. Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen had previously held the Wednesday record with its $62 million opening last year. Eclipse did not, however, break the record for largest single day gross.     According to The Hollywood Reporter‘s Heat Vision blog, Adam Brody, Marley Shelton and Erik Knudsen have joined the cast of Scream 4. Brody will play a cop recently graduated from college who was raised on the “CSI” TV series. Shelton will play a deputy who knew Campbell’s character in high school.     Variety is reporting that Judd Apatow is developing a new Pee-wee Herman movie, news of which was confirmed by Pee-wee (Paul Reubens) himself on Twitter.     The news that Party Down will not see a third season comes as little surprise but for fans of the series it will still be disappointing. Starz has officially decided to cancel the show. Prospects for a third season were never encouraging even before the axe came down.     Today Hulu soft-launched their Hulu Plus service though it has not been made available to everyone just yet. For $10 a month Hulu Plus can be used on computers, the PS3 (360 early next year), the iPhone and the iPad. Hulu Plus provides the full library of episodes for the current season, or in some cases even all seasons, of the shows they have licensed instead of just the last five episodes which is available to everyone for free.
