Second ‘Machete’ Trailer
The second trailer for Robert Rodriguez's action flick Machete has been released. In the latest trailer we see a ton more action and get a good glimpse at the cast member. The cast is loaded with some well known actors. Not to mention there is some eye candy in Jessica Alba and Michelle Rodriguez. If you missed the first trailer, you can find it here. Joaquin Phoenix as The Hulk?
Now that Edward Norton is out of The Avengers and won't be playing Bruce Banner (The Hulk) in the film rumors are starting to swirl on who will take over. The big one out there right now is that Marvel has offered the role to Joaquin Phoenix and that he is mulling it over. Marvel is looking to have a contract agreed to in time for Comic-Con where they will roll out the primary cast for The Avengers and make a splash with an unveiling such as this.

Despicable Me Takes Box Office Crown From Twilight: Eclipse
Both new openers exceeded expectations at the box office this weekend. Despicable Me knocked The Twilight Saga: Eclipse out of the top spot while Predators also performed well finishing in third.
Despicable Me, the animated film from Universal, pulled in $60.1 million which is especially impressive given the limited number of 3D screens currently available. There are three 3D films out on the market right now. With a relatively low budget of just $69 million it is already a huge success.

Hulk Will Not Be Played By Edward Norton in The Avengers
With all the positive casting news this year as it relates to the Marvel properties such as Thor and Captain America, which ultimately will culminate with The Avengers in 2012, news has hit that is being viewed as a major letdown in most circles. Marvel has decided to drop Edward Norton as Bruce Banner (The Hulk) and cast someone new in the role.

Review: Dinner for Schmucks
The cast and concept behind Dinner for Schmucks would seem to make for a promising comedy. While there are some laughs to be had they are few and far between and the overall result is very flat. The most disappointing aspect is the way the film felt rigid in its scripting and developments rather than being open and going off on tangents like many of the successful comedies featuring these actors have been able to produce in recent years.

Second Teaser Trailer for The Social Network
Just a couple weeks ago we got an initial teaser trailer for The Social Network. Though it didn't show any footage from the movie the dialogue was intriguing awareness has been building ever since. The buzz on the film just continues to rise (talk of it being an awards contender) and even one of its stars, Andrew Garfield, was just cast as Spider-Man.

2010 Emmy Nominations Announced
The nominees for the 2010 Emmy Awards were announced this morning for the show that will take place on Sunday August 29th. The HBO miniseries The Pacific led the way with a whopping 24 nominations while Glee was the runner-up with 19 of them. Other freshman shows to get good representation include Modern Family and The Good Wife.
As much as I enjoy Glee the 19 noms just seems like a bit of overkill and I was disappointed that neither John Noble from Fringe or Zach Gilford from Friday Night ...
