New on DVD: Week of July 19
After a bad week of releases, this week doesn't get much better. Nothing really stands out, except the The Losers. The action film scored a 47% on Rottentomatoes.com, which is a bit surprising to me. Pastapadre reviewed the film and gave it only 1 1/2 stars, so needless to say it might not even worth a rental. Here is the full release schedule broken up by standard DVD and Blu-ray:

CBS Films has released the first trailer for Faster, an action pic starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Billy Bob Thornton, Carla Gugino, Maggie Grace, and Moon Bloodgood co-star and it is directed by George Tillman Jr. (Notorious, Men of Honor). Faster is slated to release on November 24th.

Inception made $61.4 million this weekend exceeding most expectations. The Christopher Nolan project starring Leonardo DiCaprio (review here) opened at the high end of industry predictions which had pegged it as heading for a $40-60 million weekend. Warner Brothers has released the first trailer for The Town. An adaptation of the novel "The Prince of Thieves" the story follows a thief who falls in love with the manager of a bank he previously robbed. Ben Affleck directs, stars, and worked on the screenplay. Jeremy Renner, Blake Lively, Jon Hamm, and Chris Cooper also star.
