    This is the biggest week of the fall television season as the majority of network series return and several high profile new series premiere. Hits such as House, Glee, Modern Family, The Office, and Dexter are back. Anticipated series premieres include NBC's The Event and Undercovers and CBS' Hawaii Five-0.     Some sad news to report as Spartacus star Andy Whitfield has been forced to bow out of the show due to a recurrence of his cancer. Production on season two had been delayed as he faced treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma and this summer he was in remission everything was looking really good. He even showed up to Comic-Con and said he was feeling better than ever and was in full training for the upcoming season.     The Town, represented by the Boston suburb of Charleston, introduces itself immediately as almost a character in its own right. It is considered to be the world's capital for armed robberies amongst many other violent crimes.     Several networks were making a play for the new JJ Abrams series to be known as Alcatraz and today we learned that Fox has come away the winner. The network already houses his project Fringe which is entering its third season while NBC is launching Undercovers next week. The new show is being described as about "mysteries, secrets and the most infamous prison of all time: Alcatraz".     Paramount has released the first trailer for the highly anticipated film The Fighter. Starring Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale the story centers on the early years of boxer "Irish" Mickey Ward (Wahlberg) and his unlikely road to the world light welterweight title while being guided by his half-brother and trainer Dickie Eklund (Bale).     Deadline is reporting that Sony will be releasing a new movie starring Kevin James. The film will center around James becoming an MMA fighter and eventually trying to fight in the UFC.
